my buddy has a 1987 tristar 190 and he is putting a 700lb sac in the rear of boat ( he usually has 500lbs of people in boat) and was wondering if that will help his wake much and what he should run for prop to help hold speed. he presently has 3 blade 13X13.

Prop should be fine for that little weight. When you get over 2k of ballast and people, drop down to an acme 13 X 12. I have a PS 205 with the same prop and we don't have any problems until we put 1500 lbs or more ballast. To help hold speed, spend the money on perfect pass instead of a prop. Its money well spent as well as you can take it off easily and put it on your new boat.
