I have a direct drive and I have one 600 pound fat sack I am running in the rear locker. I want to add some more ballast, but I am not sure where I should place it for the most benefit. I want the wake to be larger but I feel the current wake is very steep. I would like to mellow that out some. Any advice?

Place weight in the bow...that will help mellow it out a little. Also, do a search, there are several post that will give you detailed advice on ballast placement.

Weight in the front.

Weight in the back will definitely make a steep wake, balance it out with more weight in the bow as the previous responses show. I believe that more weight in the bow will also make the sweet spot of the weight a little bit longer before it starts to crest over. I learned that here on wakeworld and I have seen the results.

Weighting the front is going to help your boat plane off as well, little bit of a gas savings.

If someone has the time post the link to the recent thread about weight placement.

Thanks for the help. I will look into putting some weight in the front and see if I can find the previous posts about weight.
