I have a '94 prostar and wanted some more weight without buying more fat sacs. someone told me about filling the ski locker with water without a fat sac in it??

the ski locker has a plug that keeps the water from going into the engine compartment so i was wondering if this could work??

Fill it with 50lb sand bags. Cost about $3.00 each. Keeps the boat even.

We added ballast the same way at first to see how much of a difference it made. I went to lowes and bought 300lbs of sand for around 20 bucks and played around with the weight and locations of it, then I went to ebay and found (2) 350lb fat sacs for 35 bucks new in box...(I lucked out I think). The sand is a good and cheap way to test out adding weight, plus lowes has a 90 day return policy for that. I wrapped my sandbags in 55 gallon trash bags and taped it up so I didn't rip the sand bags

A "tube" sac from fatsac brand fits perfectly in the ski locker. I run one in there and one on the floor on top of it plus 2 full size sacs on either side of the engine compartment. Perfect!

When I get crazy, I do a full fat seat in the back plus all of the above up front. That gets scary in a good way!
