my wife complains that her triceps get smoked while wakeboarding. I thought she was crazy, since triceps are used for pushing primarily, not pulling. a buddy of mine who has only gone a few times complained of the same thing.

Today she fell and somehow really pulled her tricep. i'm not sure how she fell, but she is in a good bit of pain.

How did she do it? Is she falling in a strange way?

thanks.

John

Sounds like your wife needs to do some tricep work in the gym. When you put the handle down by your hips , where it should be, there is a downward push , so thats when the triceps are getting worked and everything else. Besides all the regular ways to workout, a trampoline with a rope and handle tied to a tree is a great one! or just tie the rope to something and lean back and pull the handle down to the hip. Thats helps build all the muscles it takes to hold the handle where it should be. Sometimes we don't want to let go of the handle when we fall and alot times , thats when body parts get pulled and jerked on, hope this helps some.

I know I took a year off from boarding and the first time I went back out my triceps were burning a little, too. I believe, in my case at least, it was because the boat wasn't going fast enough... dunno if that helps here or not.
