I am wondering if the clarion XMD3 in my 05 SANTE 210 will play a cd that has mp3's burned onto it? I don't know if it means that it will play these files when they are being run through on an ipod or if you can actually burn MP3's to a disc and then play it just like another cd. Could someone give me some guidance here. I am using itunes to burn my cds. Thanks in advance.

I believe it will not, my XMD3 does not play them.

You can use the AUX. RCA inputs coming out of the XMD3 (they are the red wire ones) to run it into an ipod or MP3 players headphone jack. You can get the rca to headphone cable at Best Buy, Radio Shack, etc.. Then adjust the sensitivity of the AUX input to high (XMD's have this feature) and carry on-- we use ours that way and it works pretty good. The only way to do MP3 from disc with the XMD3 is to buy the six disc MP3 changer connected through the Ce-Net -- it's pricey, but nice.

Bryan, even the new CMD4 doesn't do MP3. In iTunes, go to the settings, advanced tab, then the burning tab. For Disc Format, make sure it says Audio CD, not MP3 or Data CD and it should create a disc playable by your XMD3. You will only be able to fit 15-20 songs on a disc, but you will be able to listen to the songs you have backed up into the MP3 format .
