I am assuming bigger is much easier to larn on. I am a big guy, about 200 and I can get a free scape with my wakeboard purchase. I am gonna try and get the bigger scape, hope I can convince them.

I had a guy that weighs like 220 riding my 112. Did not look to be riding to low in the water. I would not go smaller than that though.

would bigger be better or easier to learn on? because I can get the 112 or the 116.

Well honestly I can only tell you from my experience. I started on the 107, but felt like I was dragging in the water, so I went with the 112. I weigh 160 and feel really comfortable on it. I have never rode the 116. But the bigger surface may make it easier to get up on, and do w2w, but will be harder to spin. Hope this helps...maybe somebody else will jump in and help you out a little more.

I have a scape 116, everyone on the boat use's it from, 120#'s up to 235#'s. It works great for everyone.

peter : never ridden that board, but the bigger board should work out better : more forgiving and a smother ride when the butter is whipped.

regarding shovs : i dont think the bigger board will be harder to shove : if youre a big guy go with the bigger board :: piece : paco
