I have a Mastercraft Maristar 230, and I am thinking about trading it for one of the above boats. The 230 is great but I want something a little smaller. I use the boat for wakeboarding 90% of the time so that is the most important use. So which boat would be the way to go?

If you are happy with MC I would suggest staying with MC. I am a MC owner from 88 and am on my third one right now 99 Xstar. The x10 is a good boat. I think that you would not be happy with the wake though. I would test drive it before buying. I would suggest the X2 instead because I think that the wake is a little more to the wakeboarder than the X10. If you have the dough though I would really suggest the Xstar, you know the new design. Look into the used ones 03 or 04. Might be able to get a little bit of a price break there. I am not a big fan of Nautique for one reason. Everytime I get a new boat I always price out a Nautique and they are always more expensive for the same options that MC offers. They ride nice, look nice, and some people like their wake. I have found that the wake on the 210 needs more weight to make it nice and big. Also I have found that the Nautique wake will send you up high but not far. The MC has good distance with a slighter amount of pop. In conclusion I would suggest test driving and skiing behind any boat before you buy.

Hope that Helps

I always get pulled into these things for some reason.....it is like a magnet for idiots like myself.

Bla...bla...bla. Bla....bla....bla...bla. Bla..bla..bla, BLA BLA BLA!!! Bla...bla...bla.

In conclusion, the X-10 and SAN are two different classes of boats, thus it may be best to decide what "on the water" factors are most important to you.

I am sorry, I will try to be constructive in my comments.

The X-10/Maristar 210 will have a ton more room and storage than the SAN/Super Sport. It has never been and will never be the flagship tow boat for MC.

The SAN/Super Sport will be much more cramped and have far less storage than the X-10/Maristar 210. It has been the flagship tow boat(wakeboarding) for Correct Craft since they started the "Air" package. Many consider it the wake all others are compared to.

One is not a "better" boat than the other. Again, IMO....they are not even in the same class of boats. The best boat in the MC line to compare the SAN to is the X-2.

Best of luck in your boat search.

Thanks for the input . . .what about an X-star vs SAN? What are the wake differences?

The 210 is gonna be like running right into a wall and sending you up yonder. its a solid mass of water. The x-star is more like a ramp than the 210. Some people LOVE being shot up in the air from the wall and others like more of a ramp feel to it. Just depends on you I guess. I would say that either way you will get used to whatever wake you pick and decide thats the best one. That seems to be what most people do on here anyway. My problem isn't the wake its my skills are crappy. Don't matter what boat I am behind I ain't too good. anyway that is all so enjoy my comment.

Both have what are considered world class wakes. I cannot personally comment on the X-Star wake as I have never been behind one. But I think that again we are talking about different classes of boats. The X-Star is almost in a class of its own due to price. Boat show price here for the X-Star(w/L-18) was 22 K higher than a Air 210....

So with that said, it being a much bigger boat with better storage, regardless of wake(IMO, personal choice and whatever you have, you adapt to and it becomes your favorite)....if someone was to say, I'll give you a new X-Star or SAN....I take the X-Star.

Again....in the Mastercraft line....the X-2 is the comparable model to the SAN. Other opinions may differ.
