This is a follow up post to this thread talking about boat buying incentives: http://www.wakeworld.com/MB/Discus/messages/3183/675881.html?1236882919

I am the general manager of a dealership and we are getting ready to launch our own boat buying incentives packages. I have come up with a list of possible options. Tell me what would be your top 3 or 5 out of these. Heck, I might even just allow a customer to choose out of all of them.

I am also open for additional ideas. Let me know what you think.

Buy a 2009 boat and choose one of the following:

1. Sales Tax Paid (up to $2500)
2. $2500 credit in Pro Shop
3. Free routine service for 3 years
4. Free Wetsounds Pro 60’s with Wetsounds Syn 2 Amp with installation for Moombas. Free Wetsounds Pro 80’s with Wetsounds Syn 2 Amp with installation for Supras.
5. “The Works” Pro Shop setup. Allow our staff to fit you in the right wakeboard, bindings, wakeskate, wakesurf, rope, handle, wakesurf rope, and two life jackets that will fit your needs best.
6. Automatic $5000 off any 2009 Special Editions (Gravity, Worlds, Liquid Force, and BroStock Editions)
7. Choose any 4 options for free. For in-stock boats, you must subtract options that are already on the boat. Engine Upgrades and Z5 Cargo Rack both count as 2 picks each.

Engine upgrade an z-5 top. Those are my "4"

I like it just how you have it. Everyone will want different things, so let them pick from the list above.

If I were you I would just offer a $2500 gift card that can be used anywhere in your dealership. Then it would cover everything. It would be the customers choice. If they want to add some options to the boat, pay for service or buy proshop gear. Being on the dealers side I don't like the idea of paying sale tax as that is up to 2500 out of you pocket. With service, proshop and upgrades you charge them full retail so your only costing yourself the actual cost of whatever they get. Does that make sense? If someone buys 2500 worth of proshop stuff with the gift card you are only costing yourself 1200-1500. Also I would make it on a sliding scale. Someone who buys a 40k moomba shouldn't get the same amount of gift card as someone who buys a 70k supra.

Hardly anything is better than cash - so the closest thing to it would be my preference. Guess that would be getting taxes paid of $5K off.

Cafeteria style options would be good - pick 1 for Moomba, pick 2 for Supra, pick 3 for 'edition' boats. Since the 'works' is directed to new buyers / boarders, I think it could be sweetened to include 2-4 hrs of lessons in their new boat to show them how to use their new gear and more importantly how to drive their new boat.

Good idea on the lessons. I just might include that in that option. Keep the opinions and suggestions coming.

Extended warranty? Trailer upgrade? Ballast upgrade? (Larger sacs, etc.) Just a few things I'd also be interested in. The list you have is great though. I'd be happy with a choice from those.

oops I deleted my suggestion.

This may be a bit to much hassel but I think it's Hyundai that has a "we'll buy your car back if you lose your job"

this may be accepting to much risk etc. but it's a neat idea.

those are great promos.

I thought of another promotion that might help those who are financing. Your down payment will be matched up to $2500. So $2500 from customer plus $2500 from dealer equals $5000 down.

Keep the ideas coming. Also, obviously these promotions are good but would they be enough to push you over the edge and buy?
