I thought I better start a new thread for the next generation again. The last one went into the archives and can't be gotten back. These threads are always fun to have and talk to fellow riders at your age. I'll start out with some of my Lake Powell pictures from last week:

Thank you, we love it a lot. Lots of space and perfect for the family. It throws a pretty sweet wake too.

Got back from camp. landed a toe 3 & 5 and almost a scarecrow/frontroll. Working on a heel back 360 too.

I'm here too.

chris, what camp?

what tricks does everyone have. I've got every frontside three, only the switch 3's are only one wake for now, a backside t/s 180, also one wake for now, a h/s backside 180 [2 wake] and everything below, except inverts.

My tricks are:
Pretty much every grab HS & TS with pokes/shifties/tweaks
Heel and Toe 180's w/ mute, slob, nose, & melon
Heel and toe frontside 3's
Toe 5

Working On:
Scarecrow & Frontroll - Need to rotate more and land on toes or heels
HS BS 360 - Need to push to get pop, need to get handlepass when I do pop
Getting my Toe 5's consistant - Need to focus on waiting, then spinning, pushing to get pop

Edit: Also, I need a new vest. The one I have been using is my friends (Helium Flak). I want a pullover or side entry non-CGA. Thinking about O'neill Guru, Billabong Sanford, or maybe a Helium, but any suggestions would be appreciated. I where an XS Helium right now, and still have room to grow, so I will need a S or XS. Thanks.

Hey Benj, I noticed your favorite rider was randall harris. I got to see him ride a little bit at camp from a different boat. He did back to back wrapped switch heel and heel 5's with grabs the whole way, then did two frontfflips to revert with grabs. It was amazing to watch him. He never even used the second wake, everything was out into the flats.
Old    benj_t            07-19-2008, 6:58 PM Reply
haha yea dude its so crazy watching him ride in real life.
Old     (brody)      Join Date: Jul 2006       07-19-2008, 9:13 PM Reply
I know, I was amazed at how big he went and how smooth he was. I saw him land a Pete Rose also...amazing. His boat is so loaded to. He's got an 08 vlx down to the decals. Have you ever seen him ride?
Old    benj_t            07-20-2008, 7:32 PM Reply
yea i have. and he rides 28 miles an hour and 92 feet. and im gonna update on my best tricks.

now i have 3 540s. and im so close on a crowmobe its not even funny and ive tried a few heelside 720 off the double up.

yea dude im probly gonna try a pete rose here soon after i land a crowmobe. i think the reason i havent landed it is cause of my in-experience of landing blind. the next tricks i want to try are toeside 720 and maybe just add a 180 to the crowmobe and have a crow 5. that would be ganrly. what are you working on?

Alright I guess it's time I got in here.

Wakeboard trick list highlights: Toeside Off Axis 5's, Indy Tantrum to blind, Switch nose grabbed Toe 5's, and i'm close to double up 7's.

Wakeskate: Kickflips, Backside and Frontside Bigspins, Frontside and Backside 3 shuvs, Wake to Wake Backside 180's, and wake to wake shuv's.

But lately I have been working on my rail skills instead of the wake. My wake skills havn't improved much, but I have a steezy Back lip 270 out now, lol.

Oh, i'm 16. I ride Outlaw INT, and The highest wakesate division possible at whatever tournament i'm at. I think i'm going to ride Pwo wakeboard at this tournament i'm going to this weekend.

It's going to be a slaughter fest.

sick man! i ride in expert in INT. what tricks ar you working on? im so close on crow mobe. im landing it tommorow for sure. are your double up 7s heelside or toeside. ive tried some heelside and the closest i got was when i got the first handle pass and kind of bailed out on the 2nd but getting the rotation isnt too hard.

thanks man! what kind of tricks are you doing?
Old     (dlwsrider)      Join Date: Apr 2007       07-23-2008, 11:06 AM Reply
I'm working on Tootsie's, Pete's, switch toe back 3's, and doing everything switch. I'm getting good with my switch toeside spins, but its taken forever, haha.

I have gotten alot closer on Wake to Wake 7's than double ups. I went for a toe off 7. I got all the way around to land wrapped, and I popped the handle.

i'm going to minnesota next week, and all that are out there are ski boats, so i'm mostly wakeskating. any recomendations on a good cheap board (not over 200 dollars). I landed a shove it my first try last week at camp, and got a foot on the board when i tried a 3 shuv, so i kinda got the bug to do it more. i will still wakeboard and try stuff off the d-up, but mostly butter slides and stuff cause the water is perfect all day.

sick pic charles!

hey chris chek out the Liquid Force Anthem, i tried it out and its a really nice board, and i like how the foam is really thick. its $140. also check out the LF Control, thats what i ride and its a really good upper level foam skate.

i'm in minnesota and I got the oneill gooru vest and love it. It is extremely thin and really flexible. I also demoed a wakeskate for the weekend and it is pretty fun. I'm mostly doing surface stuff, but ive tried some shuv-its. Its fun even with a small wake.

Well after a couple times on the new skate, i like it. I've got switch and normal shuvits and lipslide to 90 shuv out, ollie 180's, small ollie s/w and regular. The funny thing about me is that i skateboard regular but wakeboard goofy, so I thought it would be really hard learning, but i'm getting better every day and can do everything reg and goofy. What should I try next?
Old    benj_t            08-03-2008, 6:15 PM Reply
definetly a wake 2 wake jump. its really easy. exept for when you get hit in the face by the skate like i did, then its not too fun. but it the board comes off your feet, dont bail out and let go of the rope, keep holding on so it will pull you away from the skate

Just got my kids started, all of us really, as I just got another boat.

This was the second day they attempted to board.

Here they are, my girl is 11 and my boy is 9.

I got w2w down on the skate and almost got a grab in. my shuvits are gettin more pop, i might try a 3 shuv or something. I can't wait to try it behind my dad's boat, the ski boat i'm behind right now throws a skimpy wake.
Old    benj_t            08-04-2008, 4:56 PM Reply
sick man how many tries did it take u to get w2w?
Old     (brody)      Join Date: Jul 2006       08-05-2008, 12:15 PM Reply
My first few I just skipped across without any air, then I started popping some more but casing it. Eventually i got the feel and made it w2w, probably on my sixth or seventh try it was legit. I tried some inside to outside 3 shuvs and almost got it, I just kept landing towards the nose of the board and getting pulled out the front. Wakeskating is pretty addictive .
