Did anybody notice Danny Harf's bindings during the X-Games coverage? It looks like maybe that's his new boot for '06. A dude in my local shop said that he's been working with Hyperlite for some time now on his signature boot and I wondered if that's it.

I thought they were 2005 HL Murray's...although I could have been mistaken...hard to tell during the event.

I could've sworn they were the '05 Murray's, too.

Theyve been talking about him getting a pro boot for years now,...

In the new wbm there is an article about the Hyperlite Premeier with some black closed toe bindings.

I thought they might be the Murray's because of the color but I thought the lace system looked kind of different. The shop dude also told me that there was an old ad in WBM for PrePop that showed Harf riding a closed toe prototype. It seems like he should have a pro boot.

The Balck closed toes are the murrays.

Any reason why he would ride the regular Premier 141 over the DNA 141? Just curious.

No pros ride DNA, I've been told it's because of weight. I mean why would durability be an issue they get boards for free. From what I've heard there may not be DNA in 06 but that could be just a rumor

Chris.... Pretty sure it's a durability issue. Breaking boards weekly would get kinda old. Also, breaking a board in the middle of a comp doesn't work out so well. The DNA boards are actually lighter than the standard core, so why would weight be an issue?

Anyone else here that can wait to see what the deal is with Harfs new "closed toe" bindings?

I echo your sediments Evan.
I may be wrong, but dont all the HL riders ride non-DNA boards in comps?

toolfan, you're not wrong at all. no pro rider rides dna in comp, simply 'cause of what evan said, that they don't want to break a board in the middle of a comp.

There will be no DNA for 2006. The new core is called "L7" and is supposedly a non-wood, lightweight foam version that has characteristics similar to the old DNA. All the pro models will be made with the "L7" core, and the lower end boards will use the traditional bio2 core.

While I can vouch for the additional pop that DNA gives you, the durability has been the reason that no pros use them, as stated many times above.

Also, the closed toe boots for 2006 are the Murray and 3DS. No word yet on the existence or characteristics of a Harf/Premier boot.

Theres a pic of some new bindings (possibly harf's) in the new WBM. They talk about the new premier with harf and theres a pick of him with it and theres some closed toe boots on it. Not too bad looking actually. Nothing like the shane ones we've all seen.

I am glad that the bindings look good because the 06 graffix that wake.com.au had up for the new premiers looked really ugly
