Yeah, while it's a great idea to 'top' the fannings, I've had a bunch of people think it was nasty to even open the bottle w/your foot, let alone drink out of it. That, and I agree with chris. Also, if the sandle is comfortable, then it's a soft sided flask, which could be punctured. now that would suck. I'll stick with my fannings

Ya I always thought it was nasty to open a bottle with the bottom of a shoe that has been in bathrooms that have who knows what on the floor. And then you pop that bottle open, I am sure you get some nice little microbes to ride along. But then again, I doubt anyone can attribute any illness to using their sandle as a bottle opener. I guess it is just more the thought of it..

I have the fannings and they were always the last resort. Like when you were looking around and the only other item you saw was the edge of a nice table or something. After using the fanning opener I just wiped the top clean with my shirt.

i understand its probably not "sanitary" to drink out of something you walk on, but can it really be any worse than taking a capped water bottle, tossing it into the toilet, then taking that same bottle and pouring a glass of water, i mean if the caps closed, "microbs" cant get in right?

Plus what everyone will be putting in them it will kill any microbes anyway. I have the fannings and just got a pair of the drams and by the time i tap into them it wont really matter what is on the cap. I am going to use them as my backup.

Got my pair yesterday and they are so comfortable and the flasks are a kick in the pants. So looking forward to putting it to use this weekend.
