Apparently if you leave the cap off, the lube will eventually dry up. Go finger.

Does anyone know what chemical is used for the zipper lube so I can go by some?

Blabel, I have just used parafin wax. Available from your local candle. Works pretty good in a pinch, or head out to your surf shop and get some zipper lube.

Zip Slip, a silicone based lube. Use beeswax on the metal part of the zipper to make it smooth.
