Here is the deal Jeremy. For one thing, when you start talking about McDonald's and labor costs...blah blah blah, I am no economics expert, but the CEO of McDonalds one time not to long ago said there primary business is not the fast food industry, but Real Estate. McDonalds owns some of the most prime retail real estate in the world. So drop the whole economics argument.
I appreciate anyone who serves in the military and does something that I could never do, but please don't throw that in someones face unless you were on the front lines or in someway taking a major role in some type of protection. I get tired of military guys who were basically janitors or wrench turners saying how they protected america. Yes everyone in the military does in some way, but don't use that whole I defended the country blah blah blah bit. It gets old.

Yes the article you posted was from 2002, but 10 billion in government aid going to illegals and that to you seems minor? It also said government aid. Does that mean Federal or State? I bet you anything it was more state than federal because that is who ends up paying in the long run. But of course that little bit was ommitted unless I misssed it.

Please dont throw degree's and GPA's around Jeremy, I know people who have Doctrates and they are complete morons!! Most people with Doctrates just had the money to pay for that peice of paper.

No one will ever change a liberals mind unless they feel the personal impact. So Jeremy, if you do ever come to AZ, Visit AMO and once you remove his shoe from your arse, Go walk around the area of ohhhh lets say 7th and Rosier around 10 pm or over in central Mesa pretty much anytime and if you still have your life or your wallet the next morning, maybe you will have a different perspective.

Jeremy, I worked fast food in high school as well as landscaping and picking watermelons, cantalope, tomatoes and cucumbers. All jobs white guys won't do right?

The crews at night are low because they don't want to pay people for the amount of volume they are selling. Profit margin is very low on sandwiches. Fast food makes their money from french fries and soda's. I will explain again. If you have to pay workers benefits or more pay or both, the establishment is going to have to raise it's prices to cover it or make it up in volume. I am pretty sure fast food in a given location already has it's volume well established so the only thing that can go up is the price of the good. I guess they could lower the profit margin but that is not going to happen by much. At the end of the day, if the price starts to exceed what people are willing to pay the volume will drop and the establishment is pretty much on the death spiral. It already costs near $7 to 8$ per person for a "value" meal at most fast food places where I live and that is with mexican labor. Many locations will just fold if the price goes higher. In my old town, at least one if not two national fast food chains folded up.

Steve, I rarely even mention my time in the service (ask my wife). But I find it necessary when guys across the country who know nothing about me, accuse me of being anti-America. I love how you determine who gets the glory in the military. If anything, YOU are the one that is anti-American. These "janitors or wrench turners" as you call them, are a crucial component to the "front-line guys" being successful. You have no clue to how the military works. The more I think about it, you are a disgrace to America.

I also love how you blame me for "throwing around degrees and GPA's". Mark asked me what I was in school for, I answered. Mark made a comment about me failing a class, and I defended myself. How exactly is that throwing anything in anyone's face?

You make mention of bad neighborhoods and that is fine. Well, come to TN and I will take you to neighborhoods where you will struggle to find a Latino, much less an illegal alien and I guarantee the results will be the same if I visit the neighborhood to which you speak in AZ.

Someone, I did not say those were jobs that "white guys won't do". I would venture to say that you and I have the same work ethic, and I would work where ever necessary to provide for my family, as I am sure you would. But there are people (its not limited to any race or creed) that think that certain work is beneath them. They would rather sit around and wait for something better to come around.

Jeremy, You are AWESOME at twisting things to your own benefit. You definately need to be a politician or a lawyer, might not be a very good one, but who knows. Yes I do understand that everyone plays a role in the military. My dad was in the Air Force and started the R and R program in Seoul during the Korean war, got exposed to Agent Orange somewhere along the line and ended up dying of cancer. I never remember him once saying that he was keeping America safe. He played his role but never over glorified what he did which a few in the military seem to do. ONCE again I said above, but obviously you have trouble reading, that Men in the military do something that I could not do. The ones that go on the front lines that is. ALSO you can read all my posts to you and I never once called you "anti-american". All I am saying is that if you think people in this country illegally deserve the same rights and benefits as American citizens, you are INSANE!!! If you go to Mexico and get in an accident, I sure hope you have some cash on you, because many times they will not even look at you unless you have cash. Yet here we treat everyone and pay for the illegals through our taxes. I am getting a little tired of working two to three jobs to provide benefits for those who do not deserve them.
I would love to know how I am a disgrace to America? How did you come to that conclusion other than you are pretty much getting no support from anyone on here. If you don't like everything about this country Jeremy and the direction its headed, you are free to leave anytime. Go be an illegal in some latin american country and see how long you last.
What do you mean about going to a neighborhood in TN and not seeing an illegal? What are you referring to? I think I know but you are afraid to say it.

All you have to do is take a look at the AG industry and know who takes what jobs for minimal pay. Growing up in the "Salad Bowl" I remember BP Agents raiding the fields about every month until they had so few workers that the crops weren't getting picked on time. My pops talks about this all the time. They'd come through the camps as well and conduct entire raids. One time I even started running until my pops caught me and said I had nothing to worry about because I was a citizen of the U.S. No shiiat!! I sure didn't feel like one on that day.

Bottom line is America is addicted to cheap labor and there's plenty south of the border. Love us or hate us, Mexicans are here to stay!! Legal or otherwise... lol... Noticed how I capitalized Mexicans. You should too... BTW, I am first generation Mexican-American, but to the world I'm simply American and proud of it. Like many on this forum, I'd give my Lnut for this country because, like many of you, I've got roots here and that wont' be changing soon and no I don't want to give California back to Mex.

Now as an adult I've worked at companies where they looked to hire nothing BUT illegal immigrants because they knew if the workers got out of line, bam they were gone the next day. I'm not a fan of unions, but man the workers at this place could have definately benefited from one or at least the legal ones. Many employees had been at this company (as illegal workers) for 10 plus years. Unpaid overtime, cash under the table, months of pay off the books...the list goes on and on all the while the owner was fattening his pockets. Yeah, he loved his illegal workers alright. He was, by the way, Republican and self proclained conservative. What a joke! Needless to say, I left that place for greener pastures as the owner thought he was going to do the same with me...
...nah homie, you got the wrong Mexican...
Old    deltahoosier            05-09-2010, 8:49 AM Reply
How about he has the WRONG AMERICAN. How about dropping the hyphen? That is the whole point either you are an American or a mexican. Since you are an American, start studying economics and understand how illegals rob legals of the pay they deserve. The drain on the system because they are paid so little for American wages, they have to use the socially mandated medical services, send billions from the country from the local economies to mexico, and over populate the school systems that are struggling to stay afloat.

A good Indian friend of mine (from Fiji) became a U.S. citizen a few years back. One day we were Bsing and I asked him if he felt he was now an American after having become a naturalized citizen. His response was no, he was Fijian and now an American citizen. Yeah, confusing I know but bear with me. I'll admit, at the time, I sort of took offense to that but oh well, we are in America after all. To each it's own. He then followed it up with a few words the judge told him and the rest of the citizens during the citizenship ceremony: "Never forget where you come from." You see I consider myself American (as does my buddy) and have all my life but to deny my Mexican roots (or my buddy his Fijian roots) is just, well wrong in my opinion. Both my parents are Mexican as are both my grandparents. It does not make my buddy or me less American. Hell, on my birth certificate under ethnicity it says I'm white and I'm a dark mo fo, so go figure. Perhaps my kids or grand kids will drop the Mex in the future and that will be ok by me. Perhaps in the future, we will be color blind too. Keep in mind I don't go around waving the Mexican flag on Mex independence or any other day for that matter, but if you see me from across the street you don't say to yourself "oh there goes a fellow American." Nah, if you're nice you'd say something like, oh there goes a Mexican...lol... You get my point.

I don't have to study Econ in depth to interperet the dynamics between supply and demand. Now you can show me studies that prove this or that and I can post stats that claim otherwise. I won't do that because we'd both be somewhat right. You have your point of view and I have mine. I'll keep it simple but even my pops with his 6th grade education can break it down. So here you. You want to affect the supply of illegal workers by shipping them back cutting benefits etc,etc, etc. That's all good in the short term. In the long run, I feel we need do more on the demand side by hitting companies that hire illegal workers in the first place. Different means to the same end. Kill the demand for cheap labor and there won't be illegal immigration.

This really comes down the the will of the people. 70% of them support this bill, so if you don't like it, tough. I don't like the current administration, but obviously, the majority did, so I am ____t out of luck(until next election when we can try again

This law shows that we haven't come much further as a country since the days of the Equal Rights Movement.
Wow, people really need to stop comparing the plight of everything that is difficult to such a violent, ugly time in our history. No this is NOTHING like the Equal Rights Movement.

In the words of Eric B and Rakim, “It ain’t where you’re from. It’s where you’re at.”
Really nothing to do with this situation. I think you need to think a little deeper.

The people targeted by this law mostly don't have a penny to their name and come from a life that is so hard that we cannot imagine it in our worst dreams.
I am not following this one. I can sympathize with the plight of anyone who is broke or in any difficult circumstances. I am just not sure what you are trying to say here.

Quote:
And Mr. Intelligence Paul, you do realize that there is about a twenty year process for a Mexican to become a US citizen?
lol...yeah, most can complete the process in less than 2 years. Some states it's a lot quicker.

Others have mentioned this, but I guess it's just not sinking in, naturalized citizens don't share your point of view Jeremy.

Leave it to Wes. True Wes, but the bible also makes it abundantly clear that one should obey the laws of the land. During a time when land and resources were plentiful, there weren't such laws, now there are, so these laws should be obeyed. Yes, we shouldn't spit on them, be violent towards them, but love them, this doesn't mean we have to disobey the law.

RE: Los Suns Jerseys

"What if the owners of the Suns discovered that hordes of people were sneaking into Suns' games without paying? What if the owners had a good idea as to who the gate-crashers are, but the ushers and security personnel were not allowed to ask these folks to produce their ticket stubs, thus non-paying attendees couldn't be ejected. Furthermore, what if Suns' ownership was expected to provide those who sneaked in with complimentary eats and drink? And what if, on those days when a gate-crasher became ill or injured, the Suns had to provide free medical care and shelter?"--Phil Mushnik, NY Post, May 16th, 2010
Would love to hear the Sun's owners response

I hears today on the radio that some season ticket holding Suns fans wore shirts (to the game) that supported the new law. The show said that they were escorted out. That's crazy.....

A member of the power commission also had a few choice words for California:

I love it. I hope that they pull this off....and that Texas soon follows suit

Obama's comments today were a disgrace to our country

"Arizona Super Highway"

JUST OUTSIDE OF TUCSON, ARIZONA
Pictures of Our Beautiful Sonoran Desert In Arizona.
HERE IS A REAL EYE OPENER FOR YOU.
Another Monster Layup/Rest Area.

This layup is on an 'illegal super - highway'
from Mexico to the USA (Tucson)
used by human smugglers.

We estimate there are over 3000 discarded back packs in this layup area.
Countless water containers, food wrappers, clothing, and soiled baby diapers.
And as you can see in this picture, fresh footprints leading right into it.
We weren't too far behind them.

As I kept walking down the wash,
I was sure it was going to end just ahead,
but I kept walking and walking,
and around every corner was more and more trash!

And of course the trail leading out of the layup area
heading North to Tucson,
then on to your town tomorrow.

They've already come through here.
Is this America the Beautiful??

Or another landfill?

The trash left behind by the illegals is another of the Environmental Disasters to hit the USA.
Had this been done in one of our great Northwest Forests or Seashore National Parks areas
there would be an uprising of the American people........but this is remote Arizona-Mexican border.
You won't see these pictures on CNN, ABC, NBC or the Arizona Repugnant.
Nor will they mention the disease that comes from the human waste left in the desert.
They do talk about light bulbs a lot though...

This information needs to be seen by the rest of the country.
It's not about Right vs Left, Liberal vs. Conservative, Republican vs. Democrat.
It's about supporting the US Constitution"
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~
P.S. ANYONE WHO DOESN'T SUPPORT THE ARIZONA GOVERNER
HAS MY PERMISSION TO VACATION IN SOUTHERN ARIZONA
THIS SUMMER....HAPPY CAMPING!!!!
was listening to the Lawyer Show on the radio yesterday and this home owner calls in with the following problem...
5 years ago he hired a paint contractor to paint his house.
One of the paint contractors laborers fell off a ladder while working on his house.
The painter claims to be very hurt and he has been on workman’s comp for 5 year.
Ironically, his sister and dad have also been on workman's comp for over 5 years.
Ironically, all three of them are all also from mexico and here illegally.
Now, with workman's comp running out, the injured painter has filed suit against the home owner for $1.2M.
And, unfortunately, the home owner is only covered for $500K by his homeowners policy.
So, now he has to protect himself from getting wiped out by for $700K by this illegal alien.
"Mexican President Felipe Calderon has been ripping into Arizona's immigration law as he tours Washington -- while appearing to disregard the way his own country cracks down on immigrants along Mexico's southern border."
"The Mexican law also states that law enforcement officials are "required to demand that foreigners prove their legal presence in the country before attending to any issues."
As always, it's just about the money.
Or just shot the guy in the face.
At the rate that support for this bill is growing, it will be interesting to watch Jan Brewer's political career.
