Hey guys of course I am in Tampa we are spending 3-4 days as a family in a cottage. I know nothing of that lake or the area and debating on wether to drag my boat up there. Its a damn long way to tow a single axel trailer boat. Any help would be appreciated.

I've never been on Allatoona before but its one of the most popular lakes up here in metro ATL next to Lanier. From what I hear its not as busy as Lanier.

If your trailer is in good shape I say bring it.

I ride Allatoona twice a week. During the week it's nice and empty almost anytime of the day. There are plenty of places to find good flat water. Its basically a big river system but almost no current. It gets a little busy on Sunday after about 12:00-1:00. Right near Red Top Mountain is a big cove called Illinois Creek that everyone parks at to hang out if that's your thing.

One more thing....it's not the cleanest lake by any means. If you're used to blue water and seeing the bottom Allatoona will fall a little short.

Allatoona's my lake. Don't even bother boarding on weekends after about 10am. Tons of boats on the water, and since it's basically a wide river the rollers never seem to stop. Can definitely find places to surf anytime, but I've given up on battling rollers trying to board on the weekends.
