Boat has trouble starting when first launched

Ok so I have Sanger v-210 and the last few times we have taken it out it doesn't want to start when we first put it in the water. I turn the key and the boat will not even turn over. I will do that over and over and finanly it will fire up. At first I thought it was the battery so I replaced it but it's still does it. Once we go and shut the boat off it cranks without any problems. Does anyone have any ideas what this could be?

If it doesn't even turn over, check your neutral lock-out switch, if it's not right in the middle, it won't turn over. ...Very common with Morse shifters.

Yeah that's what I thought at first, so I would readjust it and try to crank but still nothing.

Have someone work the key while you move the shifter a little each direction. If it's out of adjustment one way or the other, you can adjust the linkage right there at the shifter.

Do you hear a click from the starter when it won't start? if so, your starter or starter solenoid may be going out. Make sure your battery connections are clean and super tight. Just in case...make sure there are no more than 3 connections on your ground and positive on the battery terminals. That can cause problems too. It could be the ignition switch going bad...but thats probably not the case because your boat is so new. Check the battery, if it has wing nuts holding the cables down, get it hand tight and make it tighter with channel locks. If the problem is still there, check the starter.

Tried that as well. If it was the safety switch wouldn't it do it even after we had been riding around too not just when the boat was first launched?
