Speedometers not working......

I have a 2001 MC 209 with the dual speedos and neither one is working. I noticed that there is a small nut on the front of the pick-ups. What do I need to do in order to get these things working again? Do they simply work on pressure or does water acutally travel up the tube?

poke any debris out that you can with wire,
they do work on pressure
water does go in them aways...if your feet are wet youve got bad speedos or connection...
usually its the pitots, they get clogged, or pop up and need to be popped back down.
no big deal

Same thing happened to me, I just used a paperclip to unclog and it worked fine after that.

If that does not work, you can use compressed air. Remember you are trying to blow out some debris, so you will have to find a place where you can open the line (like a joint) and blow from there.
