Weighting a 2001 DD Air Nautique

What has worked best for those of you that have one or ride one? It has the factory 400# in the back.

That's easy.

Buy two StraightLine locker sacs. They weight ~ 600lbs each. Put one in the locker and one in the trunk on top of the stock ballast. Wake is excellent weighted that way and no bags are visible.

If you want more then add equal amount of weight to front and rear.

We've had as much as 2000lbs in our Sport with 5 adults and the wake was huge. But you have to go at least 21mph at that weight to keep the wake clean.

At 1500lbs the wake is clean from about 20 up and doesn't require having any ballast in the floor to get in the way.

We have the same boat. I put a Fat Sac in the trunk as full as I can get, two side sacs on the floor behind the engine box, and a locker sac in the locker. The wake is quite nice, but like Greg said you must bump the speed up to clean up the wake. You will find riding faster is easy to get used to. We ride around 25.
