The 5'6" is a big board for you for progression, get the 4'8" or 4'9". The broadcast is a great beginner board but you'll tire of it soon...

Try the 4'-6" '06 LF Brigade. They discontinued them in '07, but you should be able to find them still for around $250-$300. Everybody on my lake that is about your size rides them and no complaints. They are fast and have a great feel.

Try the yellow loogey. I use the blue because I am 6'-4" and 240lbs. One of my friends that was about your size tried the blue and could not keep it off the back of the boat. The less weight the shorter/smaller the board. Try to find a dealer close by and demo three or four different types for the day. For $450/shot they should let you try it out.

If in Wisconsin hit us up for a demo ride. We have Inland Surfers, Walker, Walzer, and Shoreline Lakeboards all for demoing right now (we also have some wakeskates to demo...)

The Walker Project Composite X 4.5 would be a great board for you. At $299 plus shipping makes it a good deal and a high performance board as well. www.thewalkerproject.com

The blue is a stock color and the yellow is customized.
