Why would anyone use those pictures anyway? They are not before and after pictures of the finished product, but rather pictures of a repair in progress. Its more like before and during with no after? Who would hire someone based off of that?

It's a cel phone on Verizon in New Braunfels, Texas.
I'm so surprised at you, Grant, for taking your boat all the way there to spend $50 on gel coat repair.

I do a little gel coat work on the side during slow times. I post on craigslist locally just to see how much interest is out there every now and then. G had some great pics of his repair work showing the process. I did send G our new x 8000 750 Lumen. LED that he will be doing a test on.

Thanks,

Ken

Ken already proved what an "exemplary" individual he is in this thread wrt drinking and boating...
http://www.wakeworld.com/MB/Discus/messages/65921/580270.html

Quote, "BUI's are total BS: All this is is a revenue generator for whatever jurisdiction pulls you over. 9 times out of 10 a BUI being issued has nothing to do with how safely someone can operate a boat. Sometimes I'm drunk on the boat, and sometimes I'm not, but I can honestly tell you that every close call I've had has happened when I was completely sober. Officers need to not abuse their power, read between the lines (color of the law), and use sound judgement. If an officer pulls someone over for a safety check; it should be just for that. Pulling someone over for a safety check, and then doing a field sobreity check is completely uncalled for.. Now if an officer pulls someone over for acting stupid or for no wake, then I'm all for a sobreity check. Blowing a .08 is practically like blowing nothing. I gaurantee I can blow a 1.0 and still safely drive a boat or car.

Here in Texas we have beer barns (drive up beer stores) that will sell you beer on tap, hand it to you in your car, and let you drive off. Yet as soon as you hit the street it is illegal for you to have that 1 beer.. Our laws are really screwed up. Moms Against Drunk Driving has way to much political power.

Our lakes normally have the Sheriffs Department, Game Warden, and local Police on the lake every weekend; what a complete waste of tax payers money. Maybe they need to write the BUI's to pay for all this patrol..

Thanks,

Ken"

I hope all of you give some consideration to both these threads and let your wallet do the talking. Nothing wrong with having a good time, but I really have issues with a company that promotes drinking and boating.

The ethics, or should I say, the lack thereof, exhibited by him via the Craig's List ad, further solidify my stance against him and his company. Be sure to tell a few friends! I have and we won't be buying Bullet products.

I'm sorry for those of you who do not approve of the way I worded that: it was not ethical. Thank you for the great advertising here WW though.

Jaak,

When you quote me there it does not send the complete context.. I was talking about people having 1 or 2 beers, and then being considered legally drunk..

Thanks

Ken, just like the previous thread, I figured you'd call a "misquote", hence the reason for including the url link to the entire thread.

As for Ken being open, I think the only thing it says is fraudulent representation.

I like Ken and don't have much of a problem with this really- Grant's pictures were well done and well taken and it probably does actually give people an idea of what they'll get from Ken- although he probably shouldn't have said it was work he had done, I give him a pass.

Also, it takes some balls to go out and speak your mind some times and Ken isn't afraid to and I give him respect for that.

1.0 BAC after one or two beers? What? Do you mean .10? The legal limit is .08...

Why did the ad get pulled if it was fine?

I have to agree with Ganster on this one. Ken has always been on the level with myself and if he type put the sentence before thinking it through, it happens. At least he said it was and honest mistake and did not hide from it. We all are not perfect and have wrote things or said things that was not the intent of what we really wanted to say.

We have not heard from G and I am sure there was some talks before he posted. It would be bad business for Ken not to talk it out first with G prior to posting. At least it isn't as bad as the Wakecraft guy on here.

There is no truth in advertising.Doesn't matter if its a beer commercial or a craigslist add.Its just a hook to get the customer in.Before I let anyone touch my boat I would have been refered by someone I trust or could see his work first hand anyways so it doesn't really matter where the pics come from.

Hey Ken,
do you ever repair older nautique's like a 1990 sport and if you so is there a gell repair kit that matches the white on the hall better than the new silver cloud white? I checked spectrum and they do not stock a repair kit for the older boats.

Thanks, Nick

there is no pre made match that i have found for the older nautiques, I got mine through west marine and just added dye until it looked right and then applied it. It worked just fine, dont have any pics though, I suppose I could steal pics of a 90 sport and say it was mine though lol. But in all honesty check out west marine and see if that helps

Nick,

From what I know Kevin is right. Get the base color and mix with dye until it looks right. Nice thing about gel coat is that it virtually stays the same color wet to dry. The darker the gel the harder it is to match.

I talked with Grant last night and he will be posting soon; he said he was really busy.

I'd say this thread took a slight turn in the wrong direction when some started attacking Ken, especially about a BUI post how long ago?. I didn't know it was actually Ken that had the ad up or I wouldn't have even posted it, the thread was already started when I found it was Ken's phone number. Just thought it was funny the way that craigslist ad was written after G's gel coat thread and thought I would share a laugh I had. I was just having some fun and after Ken chimed in he definitely took it all in stride. No hard feelings Ken, certainly hope others aren't holding it against you.

Nu Bu,

Don't worry about it! No hard feelings on my side. I made a mistake when wording that description, and that is my fault. However, this thread is very entertaining.

Paul,

It all depends on how soon the Breath Alyzer (not sure how to spell) is taken after you have the drinks (blood test is a different story). I have a friend who is a Sheriff that comes by in the evenings sometimes during his break, and we have played with the Breath Alyzer. I can take 1 shot of whiskey and blow like a .2 for a few minutes, and then it slowly goes down. I also have friends who wet their snuff with whiskey, and they will blow over the legal limit with just snuff in their mouth.

My point was, that people were getting on you about having a couple of beers on the lake, and I think thats redic. I am no advocate of drunk driving, but a boat is very different than a car, and you should get ridiculed for having a couple of beers out on the water(as long as thats it).
