boat safety in orlando

I am moving to orlando in december and am visiting the area this week and am concerned about the safety of my boat when I bring it down here with me in december. As a college student I will be living in an appartment. Does anyone else store their boat at their appartment that is in a sketchy area? What do you do to keep your boat safe from having things stolen out of it?

For Orlando I would get a Spanish speaking Doberman.

sadly I don't think dogs are allowed at most apartments. Maybe I will hire a fat spanish speaking woman to guard it.

It might be worth it to you to rent a storage garage or guarded space somewhere. I have never had good luck at apt complex's and to me a little extra cost would be more than worth the peace of mind that would come with it. Let alone it would more than pay for itself if someone did steal something at your apt.

It depends on where you stay. There are several nice boats at all the apartments that are on a lake in the Orlando area. Outside of that don't bump the system in the parking lot and no one will no it is there.

Many apartment complexes are RV friendly and have fenced in areas (with padlock on gate) where you can park your boat.

Storage garage isn't a bad idiea either, they are now practically on every major intersection -probably three storage places within a mile of UCF

I most certainly would NOT leave it parked in an open parking lot. It will either be stolen, torn apart or someone will be living in it.

When I first moved to Orlando, I found an apartment on the corner of Goldenrod and Aloma that allowed dogs and had a boat ramp.

You might also think about renting a house where you could park your boat in your own driveway - plenty of those available in the Clermont area.

im sorry airmousam. I didnt mean to offend you. I think i am going to find some storage space. Even if its outdoors as long as its gated in and not gonna have stuff stolen out of it I will feel better about it than leaving it in my driveway
