Boat Won't Plane...HELP!

I've got a 2001 MB-B52 V drive, and when I fill the tanks all the way up and fill a bow sac as well, the boat won't plane! I'm running the new four blade acme that was recommended to me, and with all the weight, i can only get up to about 2600-2800 rpms. Dry I can hit about 4000 and my spedo says I'm going 42mph. What am I doing wrong? Thanks

I would think that you should be able to hit more than 4000 RPM dry. What prop and what engine are you running?

The stock tanks are 2500 lbs right? plus a bow sack, you're prop. running 3250 lbs or more, thats prob more than you need.... from what I know the wake grows to a point than anymore is just to much... lighten the load til it planes then just slowly add some

If you can go 42 MPH with only 4000 RPM you have on a fuel economy prop and not a torque prop.
What's your engine? It should have a redline of at least 5000 so at a quick guess you could go 4-5 inches less prop pitch and that would fix all your hole shot and planing problems.

Sounds Like you got mis lead with the prop. At 42 miles per hour you should be more like 4500-4700 On the tack. I dont know if that thing has a two speed trans or not but sounds to me your Over Propped. Cup and pitch is wrong. Ill Check Acme sight for you to see whats up i'll post later.

You should be running a 13.25 x 15.5 Pitch apposed to a 17.5 which is stock . But again if you have the two speed you could in theory get away with running more diameter which would be more economical. Always more pitch means more speed top end wise and less pitch means more hole shot but running more rpms on the top end.

You haven't said what prop your using. You probably still need more weight in front. If you're using a sac on the floor it may not be forward enough. I used a flyhigh bow sac in a 2002 B52V which added about 400-500 lbs under the seats in front, and had a 13.5x16 prop. With the ballast full the boat would plane off nice only if the added front sac was completely full. The wake was really good.}

Your prop's pitch is too high by about 2". Check the prop, it sound like a 19.5 or 20" prop on the boat. Most people put a 16.5 pitch prop on the two speed tranny boat.
