I have a 2002 Outback and want to add tower speakers and a amp to the system. Ihave the rad-a cage and was wondering where people mounted the amp and how they ran the wires for the tower speakers...do u just drill thru the tower and fish the wires out?

mount the amp to an inside wall if at all possible. To run wires, drill a hole in your tower, get a piece of string, tie a nut or washer to the end of it, use a magnet to fish the string thru the tower, make sure you put a fuse on the amp bewtween it and the battery.

Eb- I owned a 2002 Outback that I installed a system the size you are inquiring about. I have since purchased the XLV and installed a huge sytem in it. In the Outback, the best place to mount an amp is on the Port side in the storage compartment along the inside wall. You will have to build an amp mount board. I did this by using a piece of 3/4" plywood that I cut to fit. Then I coated it in epoxy to seal it and add strength to it. I then stripped the carpet off the wall, cleaned off the carpet glue and then epoxied the amp mount to the wall. Before I mounted the amp mount I covered the front and edges of it in carpet a similar color as the carpet in the boat. Then I attached the amp to the board with screws.

As for your inquiry on where's a good place to run the ground wire. The ground wire from the amp? I'm not sure what you are asking. The negative wire obviously should go to the negative post on the battery.
