I am putting together a camping trip for the teachers at the school I work at and was wondering if anyone had any suggestions for places within 3 hours of the bay.

We have been to Melones in the past and would really like to have a site closer to the water. Showers and nice campsites are a plus. The trip would be sometime in the beginning to middle of July. We all have the summer off so would more than likely make it a midweek trip.

Any suggestions would be great. I have been looking at Nacimiento because then our So Cal friends can join up with us but I don't know much about the lake. Thanks

Fernando

Lake Nacimiento is a great place to camp and a very nice lake. Its at the top of my list. Lots to do + they have camping on the water, trailer rentals and cabins also a marina with all the rentals. You can check out there websight lakenacimiento.com

Midweek should be easier to find a site.
Of course...Don Pedro - lake side sites in the Flemming meadow campground. Don't know about lakeside availability in the summer (even mid week).
Scott's flat lake above Nevada City - Small lake, but would be nice midweek. Camp sites real close to the water.
Little Grass Valley lake - above Marysville, not far from Oroville (straightline distance, not drive time). A bit higher in elevation so you're in the pines rather than oak trees. We were there years ago and there were not many boarder's there at all. We camped right at the water's edge.
Floating camp sites at Oroville....availabilty questionable this late, but can't beat the proximity to the water.

I agree with Kevin.
Naci is a nice lake. It is about a 3 hour drive towing a boat.
New Hogan is also a nice lake.
Since you are going mid-week, I don't think you can wrong with any of the lake around here
