How hard is it/Would it be to not add stuff to your boat for one year for you?

I know that I am constantly thinking about/reasearching/buying new crap all the time.

Impossible for me. I can't leave any of my vehicles alone either.

I'm always finding something that I need or could use for it. Be it new docking ropes, bumpers, life jackets, more speakers, led's.

Thinking about what I can do to the boat in the spring to get ready for summer is the only thing that gets me through the winter

Not possible!

I'm with Collin... I probably spend as much if not more time in my boat in the winter than I do in the summer...

I'm trying to figure out why I keep buying seasons passes to the mountain. In an entire season, I rarely find time to get more than a few days up there. Always work to be done on the boat...

I also find it impossible not to add stuff to the boat. In a way it keeps me content with the boat I have, instead of desiring a newer boat.

If they'd have built it right from the factory we wouldn't have to be adding all this crap.

Not necessarily true. I would much rather have an aftermarket stereo than a factory installed stereo. Some major savings can be done this way.

Every year it is something. For me, two years ago it was tower speakers and sub. Last year it was an eq. This year it will be new prop.

Geez, my wife would love it if I did one thing a year.
I think last year alone it was tower speakers, EQ & prop.... plus transom LEDs, foil racks, MP3 input, winterization kit, etc.

This year it's gonna be swim step & mirrors..... for now.

When I bought my boat it had crappy tower speakers and one amp. I took it out twice and nixed everything and put in 6 new interior speakers, new tower speakers, 3 amps, 2 subs, 2 more batteries and an eq. This year everything but the tower speakers and the eq is getting replaced including bigger batteries. Plus some other misc stuff. Lucky my lady is into it and doesnt nag on me. LOL

My boat came with Kenwood installed from the factory. To me, that's aftermarket. Whoever designed it did a terrible job. They had a woofer that has power ratings of 300W rms, with about 100W on it. The next model year was a little better, but not much.

It's in the rules.

A toy, once bought, must be kept fresh or replaced on a seasonal basis.

Every year I have a laundry list of crap especially stereo 2 full sets of different amps, 3 full sets of different interiors, 2 full sets of 4 tower speakers...My wife knows about maybe a third of it, well that she mentions anyway. I've got 2 FAE's and a speed volume control here at work right now. Plus a new vest and Speaker sox too (I won those) in a drawer here also. Tinker tinker...

Bring On Another Thousand i have been really good with my malibu so far. besides new titan lift off racks and a couple other ins and outs i have managed to keep my girl happy and havent spent a dime on anything like a system. lol. but trust me its in the back of my mind everyday. its hard when your friends are installers and they look at your boat like a blank canvas.
