All the deaths on my lake in the last three years have been for one reason!!!
It's a shame to lose a life but I guess you reap what you sew!!!

Drunken boaters do nothing for me except put me and my friends at great risk!

Sac PD set up check point 2 Sundays ago on Freeport Blvd (Hgwy 160) where all the traffic comming north from the Delta had to pass through. They nabbed hella dudes on Harleys in just a few hr period. Didnt see any boats but the location was perfect. I agree drunks deserve the penalties.

We were just talking about these checkpoints last night.
They are cracking down on DUI nation wide, because it really is a problem. I have a feeling that we are going to start seeing checkpoints formulated into every weekend over the next year or so.
Back when I was younger, (my first few years of College) I used to drive around drunk all the time, as did (or still do) most kids. In fact I can remember 1 night that I don't even remember driving home, as well as many nights that I've gotten into my car, started driving, and told myself that I shouldn't be. (I don't promote this behavior, or think it is funny in any way.) The point is, I and many others should have been put in jail. I never got stopped, in fact the thinking is, if you really pay attention, drive the speed limit, and take your time, then why would they stop you.
This was 5 years ago. I don't think things have changed much, and if they have it is probably for the worse. Surprise DUI Checkpoints that are up every weekend would put a huge dent in this problem.
Didn't mean to give a long rant, just thought it was an interesting topic.

Victoria looks nice. We went out Sat. morning and road Railroad til 11AM. It was a zoo at Orwood when we trailered the boat. I would have bet that Victoria would have been a little wind chopped and had huge amounts of power turners on it Sat. at 3:00. Looks like fun.

walt, i wish i could tell you where we were, but since i don't want it to turn into another victoria, i'd much rather not.

was pretty crappy today, with the crowd and power turners. glad we have our spot to go to.
