Folsom on the weekend, especially Memorial Day Weekend? Riding? Forget about it. If you hit the water by 6am you can usually find good water until about 8am. That is if you can avoid the 12 tons on debris that have been floating out there. Rumor has it they are going to lift the 5mph restriction by the weekend because they have been able to clear most of the debris.

The only thing Folsom is good for on the weekend (especially Memorial Day Weekend) is bringing a lawn chair and a cooler full of your favorite beverages to the launch ramp and watching the chaos unfold...

It is however OK to wakesurf or just kick back and enjoy the California sunshine. Wakeboarding sucks on this weekend but it is better than working.

I am heading up on friday So hopefully most people will be still working so I might get a decent set in. As for saturday it will be for my friends that don't really ride so I will be taping all of the great falls the newbies have and having a couple of cold ones! Is one arm Better than another arm?

I choose the left arm. It is stronger. But I am left handed.

If you are going to try to ride, then, in my opinion, your best bet would be to ride by the Rattlesnake launch ramp area as early as possible in the morning.

The signs say no alcohol but the web site, the sheriffs and the park rangers all say it is allowed as long as the boat or anchor is not touching the ground.
http://www.folsomlakemarina.com/alcohol.html
from the website, This policy prohibits the consumption of alcohol or possession of an open container of alcohol in any day use and lake surface areas of the park.
Exceptions to the policy are:

Registered campers within a designated campground

Within a vessel Floating on the lake surface, but not touching shore

Permitted Special Events in designated areas.
An open container is defined as any bottle, can or other receptacle containing any alcoholic which has been opened, or seal broken, or the contents which have been partially removed.
Hope this helps, M.
