I've got a 5 year old single Pioneer DIN cd player in my truck that does not have any front auxiliary inputs. I recently upgraded boats and my current boat has stereo system with auxiliary inputs so I can play an mp3 player.

I want to use the mp3 player in the boat and the truck. Are there any cables I can hook up to allow my current cd player to connect the mp3 player? Like using the inputs/outputs/jacks or whatever is on the back?

I'm trying to avoid replacing the whole cd player just to get this function, its been very solid, just older technology.

If it has the Pioneer IP bus, you can get an Aux in adapter in on ebay pretty cheap.

Kirk- thanks for the response. Heres my head unit:

It mentions something about IP Bus, is that whats needed? If so, do I just buy the cable you linked to and match up the colors on the back of the deck? I can't tell from the ebay picture, but the other end doesn't look like it'd plug directly into my mp3 player. Do I need some other adapter?

Just buy the iPod adapter version. The one that is in the Ebay add is for RCA plugs. They make one that has the IP connector and the iPod plug instead of the red white RCA plugs.

Will this work with a non-iPod mp3 player?

the "weird" end is the IP bus input on the back of your deck. The RCA ends go to your mp3 player. Plug one of these into the RCA ends and the other end into the headphone jack of the MP3 player and you are set:

My bad I thought you wanted an iPod hook up. Go with a plug like the ebay ad and a head phone jack like the picture and you will be set.
