Anyone tried towing a lightweight trailer, like a small tent trailer, behind their boat trailer? I just bought a tent trailer that weighs about 2300#, and was curious if I could tow it behind my '05 X-2 w/a tandem axle trailer, without doing any major mods to the trailer itself. My thinking is that I could attach a bolt-on class III style hitch to the prop guard and go from there. The guard is pretty beefy, and can obviously support the weight of the boat, so what do ya think?? Any help is really appreciated!

You first have to find out if it is legal to pull two ball hitch trailers. Some places allow a ball hitch to be pulled by a fifth wheel.
Next you do not want to pull from the prop guard. It's no where near strong enough. You would have to attach to the main frame members and then figure out how to get it off so you could unload the boat.
Of course, if you could back that rig up you would get into Ripley's Believe It or Not.

Really Bad Idea. Mostly because the tent trailer will have no brakes and will push the boat trailer around every time you go down a large hill or let off the throttle. Your rig will end up all over the road like the tail wagging the dog.

Many people do, however, pull boat trailers behind 5th wheels campers.
