i subscribe to both and i like alliance better. it has more articles with the riders and it seems like it just has more substance. i think wakeboard mag does have better gear reviews though, but it seems like it is mostly ads.

I agree with david. I know it was not listed as an option, but I would take the Standerd over either of the other ones. I am letting my subscription to alliance run out, and am only getting the Standerd now. well worth the limited amount of issues over the course of a year.

Alliance is more fun and interesting. But they try to brainwash you more than WBM does.

to me it seems that wakeboarding mag is a catalogue now with a few reviews here and there. kinda went a little too corporate. for example they had a jean review. who really cares to read a review about jeans.

Get Alliance for more reading content and the Standerd for awesome photos and a couple in-depth well put together articles each issue.

WBM has been pathetic for years. The gear reviews are all paid advertisements- Classing a Gekko in with the X-1, wakesetter, Nautique, X-2...... C'mon. Maybe I would consider thier opinions as semi-valid if they were not so transparently being paid for opinions. There is hardly any real content anymore. I do not care what music the pros listen to. I do not care what cars they drive. I do not care what shades they wear, what clothes they wear, or the board shorts they choose. It has never crossed my mind to care about what energy drink they prefer this week. I want to know what tricks they are working on, and how they expect to advance the sport. Sorry bout the rant. Bottom line- if you don't mind a 4-1 advertisement to content ratio, go for WBM. Personally, I can recreate the WBM experience right here on this very site. I can read a wakeboarding thread, click on 4 of the advertisement banners at the top of the page, and then go to the next thread and repeat.
