I am thinking of jumping on a used boat. I want to ask anyone with experience dealing with dealers and used boats how much they are willing to negotiate? They have had the boat for a while and of course winter is around the corner, wouldn't this normally help me? Would I be asking too much trying to get an out the door price for what or less they are asking for? Thanks guys.

definetly.. if they would take care of the taxes and fees that would be a big savings.. and also a good deal for them being winter is around the corner..

Dealers generally don't care what time of the year it is. Sitting on things a few months means nothing to them. Private party or consignment on the other hand, that's when you get deals in the off-season. And as always, with dealers, cash talks and bullshiot walks.

Actually.....cash or approved credit for 50k+ is the same for them,no deals coming with cash b\c dealer gets their money from the loan bank that is fin.you anyway!

Cash factor is always in "play", anyone who walks in w/ cash in hand is a serious buyer. Doens't matter what your selling, sales is sales. No good salesman will let a person with cash in hand walk out those doors.

I bought my boat in the fall after a model change. I worked a great deal and he threw in storage.
