Any speaker, any size, Infinity is the way to go. In my opinion pioneer makes great stuff, except for their speakers. Go for the Kappas or step down to the Refrence, either are better than Pioneer.

Ty:
I have 4 Infinity Reference in the boat and 4 6" Pioneer Premier 3 ways up top. The Infinity take high power better and are much brighter in the highs. The Pioneers screem though & I am really impressed. Have you seen the aluminum speaker cans Percision metal works is selling on ebay @ $69 each. They might be good option. ck em out.

Ty, I have the 6980's on my tower and they are very impressive, I haven't heard the Infinity's to compare. Ask Grant about the pionners VS Infinities, I think he has heard both sets side by side.

we have 4 of the pioneer 5 way 6x9's with some amp my buddy had laying around in his garage hooked up to them and i think they sound really good. you can definately hear them when you ride. i found them on either sounddomain.com or onlinecarstereo.com (cant remember which) for like 89$ a pair which was also a better price then the infinitys when i was lookin to get some... but thats just my .02

Personally I think the infinitys sound better. But I would go for the Pioneers myself, they are cheaper and they do rock. Besides the sound difference isn't that great and at 80 feet your not likely to hear the difference.

Infinity hands down! They are pure sound quality if you go with the kappa perfect series. I have a full kappa perfect system in my truck and boat and people swear I have 10 times more than what I have in them. They really rock.
