Easiest wakeboard to get up on?

I'd like some recommendations of the easiest board to get up on, to help first-time riders on my boat. From what I read the CWB Sol was the easiest, but it's not made anymore.

It seems like at least one factor is that I should get the biggest board possible, for the most initial flotation. Or maybe I'll just start having people try the wakesurf board if they're having trouble (just to get the idea), since that pops up so fast.

(Not trying to start a thread on all the tips for first-time riders - there are plenty of those. Just on the easiest board.)

As long as the board isn't comically undersized for the person, it's 99.5% technique, 0.5% board. Your profile says you ride a 139 Lyman, that'll work for practically anybody unless they're a small child.

Yeah, I agree it's mostly technique - just wanted to give people as much advantage as I can. As with most people's experience, it's usually the guys that have the most trouble.

I have the watson classics as my boat board for teaching people. It works well cause it has a removable center fin. Most boards will work though as long as the board isn't undersized too bad.

The center fin really helps new boarders who haven't learned what edging is. Then size like mentioned above. Also if you go slower 15-17 mph they will track better.I have a watson also and it's a good board,but i taught most newbies on my 2007 Marius with 3 fins on each end.

Yep, anything with more fins. It's always funny to me watching people get up the first time on my old obrien ( old daniel watkins addition not loose at all ) but they cant seem to keep it straight.

I think I have a 2009 Hyperlite Motive 140 as the beginner board, which I think has a decent center fin. Can't check it now since it's on my boat at another location.

Like others have said board shouldn't be a factor unless it's really small. The best tip I have ever heard which works great, is to tell the rider to keep their elbows touching there knees. If they hold that position they will get up 9.9 times out of 10.

The Motive is probably as good as any for a beginner getting up. A 140 might be a little big for small kids. But should be fine for everyone else.

This past weekend with a person who kept plowing the water, I used the technique of having him learn to get up on the wakesurf board (right behind the boat with the short rope), and after that he got up on the wakeboard in a few tries. So I'll be doing that from now on if it's taking someone more than a few tries on the wakeboard.
