I'm just getting started wakeboarding. I have a 1982 Galaxy Excecutive I/O with a Big Air H20 tower,(beautiful boat, lots of teak wood trim, leather seats and trim, and a killer sound system i installed myself along with the tower). Before you laugh, the boat is in excellent shape, and throws off a wake compareble to my friends Tige with his taps set on 6. whats the best instructional DVD on wakeboarding, and how much differnece do wake buddy's make. I'm thinking about getting a set of them to place beside my engine. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

you might want to check out detention vol. 1&2, as well. in my opinion, the beginner's section is more helpful and in-depth than the other instructional vids. (disclaimer: i'm not saying that the others are bad)

as for the wake buddies, they will make a bigger difference than you think!

Wow, another "Mark D" on the boards. I almost did a double take when I saw my name as the author of the thread, lol. I used to have an boat very similar to yours, and from my experience, adding fat sacs to an I/O doesn't do a whole lot. I would put upwards of 600lbs. in the boat and the wake stayed pretty much the same. But I think you should still experiment with moviing weight around in your boat, you might have different results. As far as instructionals, what Joe said was on the dot, in my opinion.

Try ebay for the sacs. And Detention, the Book, and Higher Education are all good instructional DVDs.

wrong, fatsacs improve i/o's tremendously.

front weight especially helps an otherwise soft io wake firm up and clean up.
