Does anyone in the Portland area have any history on this boat? It's been for sale for a while now. If you've seen it do you think it's priced right?

Thanks for any info

Brian

If its real and does not have anything wrong with it. That is a smoking good deal! A bit on the ugly side but a good deal.

Brian,
I don't know any real history of the boat, but it used to sit on the water downtown in a slip somewhere. I have seen it on the river a bunch and it always stood out cause the bimini was so badly sun faded that it was orange and looked strange. I believe the last time I saw it, it seemed to have a new bimini cause the colors matched better.
On a side note isn't the 03 X star the one that tends to porpoise? I vaguely remember there being some hull design that they changed in 04 to get away from that. I don't really know X Stars, so don't quote me. Looks like a sharp boat and not a bad price.

Thanks for tip on porpoising, I'll look into it.

X star never had a porpoising problem, if it did porpoise its because the rear tanks and bags were full 4 fat chicks on the sun pad and the boat was WOT. Same set up in the hull as 04-09

Yeah, so far I can't find anything on porpoising on the X-stars.

Old Super Air's had the porpoising issue, and it was easy to fix

The reason it is for sale at a good price is probably because no one can get financed. If you try to look up the value of that boat using NADA you run into a problem. Nada doesn't show a 2003 xstar. I am not sure if it is in one of the other books but if the banks don't recognize it and can't get a value for it they may not finance it.

Hard to believe that someone actually ordered that color combination for that boat...

at least it's not purple.

Do you still ride the LEX or have you picked up an LE38?

I don't mind that color at all. Navy Blue and Red. sounds and looks like a good combo to me. Different strokes I guess.

The boat does have a fair amount of hours. It also has the LQ9 which I am not sure is a good thing. Isn't that the liquid cooled cadillac northstar motor? I don't think those are cheap to replace.

If taken care of 600 should be nothing. That engine should run 2000 hours and more if maintenance is done right.

Sorry guys about the porpoising, just something I heard from some X Star people. Might be totally false as I know nothing about them.

The boat looks good in person and the colors are not bad in person. I have admired it several times as it passed by.
Are you sure it is an X Star and not a Maristar? This was the first year of the pickle fork right?

Yes, first year of the pickle fork. Don't know how to tell the diff from a Maristar. The bow cushion has the X-Star logo?

Its all X-Star not Maristar. The colors are most likely one of a kind. Reminds me of some sort of Super Heros Boat. 2003 is the only year with the option of colored glassed interior all other years you're only allowed white
Is it priced right, debatealbe. I've seen some 05 and 06 sell for around 40k, to me 05 and newer is a much better equiped boat
