Hi,

Time to change my attwood sahara. This one never worked properly, but bought it used, so I can't know for sure if it was a good pump or not.

So, i'm looking for the best auto Bilge pump. I don't want to spend crazy money on this one, but don't want to to be cheap on such an important part in my boat.

I have an centurion avalanche, and pump should not be too large since the small amount of room near the transom.

Thanks !!

I've had good luck with the Johnson cartridge type auto bilge pump. I've left mine on too many times to count and have never had a problem with it.

This is the one I have, but there are different sizes.

This is the pump I use, it is the same pump as the Atwood Sahara. It's. 750gph and always functions correctly.

The post office lost my package, so I ended up ordering another one and of course the "lost package" showed up a week later. So I keep the extra one in the boat just in case.

But hey, 60 bucks for 2 auto 750gph pumps. Ok in my book. That is less than the cost of one "Atwood" labeled pump.

I was just looking further the rule automatic works on this principle: Rule Pumps 12 Volt DC Automatic Bilge Pumps 500 GPH - 2000 GPH feature computerized operation on the principle of impeller resistance. Float switches are not required. The pump will turn on every 2-1/2 minutes to sense for water. If water is present, the pump will sense resistance
and continue to run until all the water is removed. Thereafter, it will check for water every 2-1/2 minutes.Power use in the checking mode is minimal.

Sounds like the above seaflow one is:
Submersible auto bilge pumps are equipped with built in electronic controlled reed sensor system to make fully automatic operation easy.
No separate float switch is needed and relay loop design protect the pump against instant high current. No power use until pump turns on when water rises. (Auto bilge pump)

So just different principle on what triggers.

I was looking into the Rule pumps, I have heard bad stories about them being stuck on and draining batteries and or burning up. Bad news.
