im looking at adding some weight to my boat to get a bigger wake. i have an i/o and i was wondering if adding ballast will just suck the gas out of my boat and just end up with bad fuel economy.

That is the price you pay for a big wake.

As you add weight you'll find there is a point of diminishing return - that is we usually run, anything above and beyond just isn't really worth it to me

Totally depends on your boat and the engine you're talking about. But to compare just think about having an extra 4-5 people in your boat all the time, that's near 700#s

I have 4 sacs adding up to 1000# that you can throw in and move them around sometime if you want to try them out before you buy your own.
