Does anybody have pics of the wake behind a Moomba Outback or have any opinions on this boat? I'm looking at an '02. Thanks

My Mobius is the same thing-put about 1000# + ballast and you get a pretty good wake out of it.

My mobius has a good wake w/out ballast, but with 1000 pounds its sweet.

Mobius and Outbacks are two different animals, for that year model.

Yeah, the '02 sold. It looks like the Outback does just fine when weighted right. I have my eye on an '03 with no ballast but he might throw in 3 sacs and a tsunami pump.
Old     (bradenb12)      Join Date: Jul 2005       04-28-2006, 6:36 AM Reply
Ronald, what boat and how is it weighted?
Old     (ronnie1978)      Join Date: Apr 2006       04-28-2006, 7:28 AM Reply
It is a 04 outback 2 bg fatsacs 600 -650 on each side of the clamshell and about 6 people (avg weight 150) running between 20-22. If you don't pay attention when you are driving you will take rollers over the bow very easy. My plan is to get 2 of the 750# prox sacs in place of the bg sacs about 300# of lead under the rear seat and about 150# of lead in the bow. I think that should keep it looking the same without people in the boat which is how I normally have to ride, plus I can take out the lead easily if extra people want to ride.

the outback does great with weight, but be warned, its a low rider! i can and will take on water very easily if you aren't careful!
Old     (ethomass)      Join Date: Apr 2005       04-28-2006, 9:58 AM Reply
Very easy to take rollers over the front and get the ladies up front wet.

What about an Outback LSV...isn't it the same as a Mobius LSV spec wise.
Old     (mattyboyr6)      Join Date: Jul 2003       04-28-2006, 11:54 AM Reply
There is little dif between the '06 Outback V and Mobius LSV. What comes standard and what is options is the big dif.

As for weight we put a fly high fat seat in the rear and then a 400-600 lb sack next to the driver. I just bought the flyhigh side seat and put that up front next to the driver and it fits very well. Close the walk through window and it almsost comletely blocks out the wind.

Those of you surfing how do you weight it for that and what speed? Thanks

outback LSV = Mobius LSV

the mobius justr comes stock with tower and ballast
Old     (ethomass)      Join Date: Apr 2005       04-28-2006, 4:52 PM Reply
I thought for 06 Moomba changed the hull of the LSV. While the Outback V is 05 and previous years hulls.

Matatto I had stock ballast full plus one 375 next to the engine and one 375 on the back seat with two people on the boat at 9.8 mph
Old     (bradenb12)      Join Date: Jul 2005       04-30-2006, 2:06 PM Reply
I think you are right Eric. Does the Outback LS have a differnt hull? I'm trying to stay around 25K.
Old     (ethomass)      Join Date: Apr 2005       04-30-2006, 9:05 PM Reply
For 2006 I know the LS is longer and wider than the outback. I am almost positive this was the same for the 03 which we have.

eric...can you post some more pics of your '03 LS...thanks

Is a 2003 Outback LS the same as the '06?

Alright...need some feedback on an '01 Moomba Kamberra. Anybody have any experience with this boat? Hell of a price for a v-drive.
Old     (entrustclothing)      Join Date: Jul 2005       05-01-2006, 3:05 PM Reply
the 03 is not the same as the 06. the 06 outback LS. LSV, mobius LS and LSV are all a brand new hull
Old     (ethomass)      Join Date: Apr 2005       05-01-2006, 3:30 PM Reply
entrust is right. All new hulls for 06. The 03 i believe is 20'8" and 95" beam. The interior looks very similar except for the rear "sunpad" or locker. On the 03 it is smaller. I can get some pictures up later.

Dont know much about the Kamberra, heard some good things
Old     (bradenb12)      Join Date: Jul 2005       05-01-2006, 5:54 PM Reply
It's a big boat for the money, and it's a v-drive. It has to throw a pretty good wake for as big as it is.
Old     (bradenb12)      Join Date: Jul 2005       05-01-2006, 5:57 PM Reply
Also, can you order a rad-a-cage tower from Moomba? If so, do you know how much it would cost?
Old     (ethomass)      Join Date: Apr 2005       05-01-2006, 6:27 PM Reply
Couldnt tell you about the rad a cage. Im sure you could call up skiers choice, or you local dealer and ask them. I know there are people on here that have the Kamberra.

bb12 were you looking for more pictures of the interior, wake or exterior. I dont have any interior shots, some of the boat, and some more of the wake. Whichever you are looking for.

bb12,

The Kamberra and the Mobius V shared the same hull from 99-03. The Kamberra is a little different inside. It has a walk through in the rear, and a walk through in the front vs. the playpen configuration in the Mobius V.

I've got a 2000 Mob-V. You can get a great wake out of this hull when properly balanced, almost identical to the XLV. Here's a clean pic of the wake.

Upload

I'm running a 1000lb sack in the front, and 400lbs on either side in the rear and the wake is perfect. The rider in the pic is out at 80ft riding at 22.5mph.

Yeah, the Kamberra I'm looking at is a straight V-drive, no walkabout with a playpen bow.

Okay, I found a 2000 Mobius V now. It's loaded, full ballast, upgraded MPI engine, tricked out stereo, perfect pass. It has 690 hrs. on it, says it has been maintained and serviced regularly. He is asking $25,500...good deal if I bought it around $24,000 or so?

Also, Cliff, could you post some more pics of your Mob-V; engine, dash, interior, etc. Thanks

The pics look a little odd because it's 6am and the boat is fogged up.

It's a very nice looking boat. Have you been happy with the quality and performance?
Old     (seattle)      Join Date: Mar 2002       05-02-2006, 10:21 AM Reply
Quality - had it four five years haven't had a single issue with it.

Performance - wake is one of my top five favorites. It doesn't compare to the MC 205V hull, or the CC 210 hull ( I don't think anything can ). I would though put it in the same class as the Bu VLX, Moomba XLV, Supra SSV, or Supra 21V. Overall, I'd say it's an above average wake.

Check out my profile. 2000 outback ls. Carrying about 1300lbs in people and ballast. The wake gets nice when I am over 1600lbs.
1800 in people and ballast is my absolute max.

how about a 98 outback. When does the hull change in that boat?

cliff, the tower breaks down right?

Folds forward.

The highest point of the boat when the tower is down is 6.6ft.

bb12 I use to have an 04 Moomba and just starting out its a great boat. I put a about 900lbs in the back (fat couch) and 300lbs in the front and it was comparable to an 04 VLX. Unfortunatley I dont have pics posted but I will try to post them. But yea great boat if you weight it properly.
