Anyone know the dimensions under the drivers dash of a Sanger V210.. wondering if a 15.5" x 13.5" x 19" box will fit under there

What year V210?

May and May not. Old V210 99 and prior have no fiberglass seat base which allows for a larger box to be installed. Newer ones have the fiberglass base. Boxmay still fit, but you will need to remover the entire seat base and seat to get the box in place. At times (and this may be one of them) you need to trim back the fiberglass footrest a few inches to get a better fit. The foot rest tapers down and forward towards the bow, you can gain 3 to 5 inches if needed by some simple cutting with and airsaw.

You can reach over the footrest and remove the false wall covered in carpet by pulling on it. It's held in place by velcro only take the measurements and see what you have to work with.

It depenends on if it has a heater and where the ballast/steering cable is ran. In our v230 I couldn't go more then 12" deep and 18" high/wide.

I built a big sealed box for a kicker 10 L7 and it sounds really good, but if I could have made it deeper I might have ported it...

thanks dude.. I am looking at all the stereo stuff today.. Im so torn between going with the Kicker stuff or getting Orion amps subs.. I have been out of the stereo scene for a while and I remember in my day, the Orions pounded like no ones business

Don't get lazy on the box, Isaac... You need to build a custom box to fit that location. If you find a prefab that fits you need to strip the carpet and resin the whole box or else you'll have a pile of mush in no-time.

If you're going to be lazy and not build or resin a box, then you need to make sure to have feet on the bottom of the box to get it up off the carpet. Otherwise that particle board (or MDF) will work like a sponge on damp carpet.

Boat's looking great, man. Can't wait to get a ride behind it.

Evan, Believe it or not hahaha I am not good at building speaker boxes for subs.. I have done it.. but I am not good at it.. I like the idea of stripping the box and resining it.. I can do that.. I cant wait for next weekend!! Evan, we need to dial in the wake.. then I expect a CIE approved sticker on the back! hahah

My formula for weight:
Pro X Series Rear Seat Bottom (W705) in the floor 600-700 pounds
2x Custom 350 pound tanks in the rear
500 pounds lead around the bow seats
100 pounds lead stowed down the gunnel's in the middle
At rest the bow hook should be right at water level and the platform about 1" under
Around 2k total + 5-6 people = Money

You are going to love that boat, they are rad.

I dont want any exposed bags
Old     (ralph)      Join Date: Apr 2002       06-04-2009, 1:11 PM Reply
The ProX fits in the floor, nothing is exposed
Old     (ralph)      Join Date: Apr 2002       06-04-2009, 1:13 PM Reply
As Evan said you might want to invest in a bow cover! Oh and check your prop, its probably a 515, if you run heavy a lot the 525 is good choice.

Last yr i brought my boat in for a new impellar they told me like 80 bucks then at oick up it was 180.The said oh we didnt know it was a black scorp, funny because they looked at it when i dropped it off and said it had it...... They they said oh well we had to run it. Funny thing the batterry was dead how did they do that???

nick, shouldnt we be seeing a "new ride thread" from you hear shortly?
Old     (ralph)      Join Date: Apr 2002       06-04-2009, 5:35 PM Reply
Yes you can hear the 6x9's when riding but I wouldn't say they sound good. IMO tower systems are much better suited to part cove stuff than riding.

Darren, where are you refering to location wise in the floor for the W705- 600-700lbs?
Old     (ralph)      Join Date: Apr 2002       06-04-2009, 6:13 PM Reply
Under the floor in the front. Take out the funny ice chest thingy and stuff the bag in to the front. I don't actually use the W705 but the bag I use is similar dimensions but a bit longer. Its not a deep space but pretty long and widens up a lot under the bow seats.

Isaac,
If your at liquid wrenches in Livermore I would recommend you talk with Justin if you have any issues, questions, concerns. I have always found him to be a stand up guy. Just my opinion.

Congrats on the new purchase. Not to say that your old boat was bad but this is def an improvement.

So where the stock front bag is in my 06? If ours are the same, and I'm almost sure they are, there is no way you're getting a bag holding 600-700lbs under there...

Nice move on the V210. They are small but mighty.

I will say that of the 2 21 foot boats that we looked at, X1/205v in comparison was night and day with interior layout. The sanger felt so much wider and longer inside. The bow is smaller than the MC but Id rather have the extra room in the cabin since its mostly kids in the bow. We were very close to getting the X1 or 205v and I almost convinced myself it would work untill I sat in the Sanger..

Congrats on the Sanger! My 210 has been rock solid! I run 2 13" SPG 555s in mine and they slam! I run 250lb sacs in the back, and a single 440 in the floor and the wake is very nice!

Man we had some times in Billys 210. If you run it heavy watch out for rollers coming over the sides. If a Sanger on the delta make you anything, YOU WILL BE A GREAT DRIVER by the end of summer.

CONGRATS!!!!!

Congrats Isaac, welcome to the 210 club!

I agree, they do feel roomy for a 21 footer. When I got mine back in '99, I had narrowed it down to a Supersport Nautique and the V-210. Both 90" beams, but and the Sanger's layout and feel sold me along with the three piece hatch, CC still had the one piece then.
Not to mention I grew up around Sangers, and always wanted one...

Now get out there and enjoy it...

Congrats...You are going to love your V210.

As for the sub...get one custom made. Don't mess with trying to shoehorn some off the shelf box in...just get it done right.

As for weight, in my 210, I have the 68" long 400# sack in the ski locker. I also have (8) #40 pop bags under the bow seats. I also have about 250# of batteries and stereo gear in the compartment forward of the observers seat....that puts a total of about 1000# forward in the boat.

I then had some tall custom sacks made that sit in the front of the rear lockers...they are filled to about #225 each. I also have (4) #40 pop bags I keep on the floor near the rear deck seat to tune the wake. This puts a total of about 600# in the rear of the boat.

I like to ride with 4 people.

I have found that much more weight beyond that...and the returns start to diminish. Going from say 1000# total...to #1600 total is a huge difference in the V210 wake. Going from #1600 to #2000 is not nearly as noticable..except the boat is a lot wetter...and harder to drive.

For me...the 210 sweet spot is about #1600 as noted above. I have had more than a few newer riders ask me to take weight out when pulling at #1600 as the wake was intimidating.

I was pulling at 23 mph and 72-75'...but have more recently been pulling at 22 mph, and a much shorter rope...going for lots of height with little speed....with soft downslope landings. The advantage of that big meaty 210 wake is not the takeoff...it is the landing!

Isaac nice color combo. I have the exact same boat 2003 and everything. You'll love it. I took out the footrest on mine and built a custom box with a 10W7 in it under the dash. Only pain is getting it out when I have to change the stock ballast pump impeller or steering cable. Also built and amp rack under the passenger seat where that little storage rack thingy used to be. Can't beat the storage in a V210. Listen to Darren for weighing the boat down he has it dialed. I run a custom locker sack like he's talking about and 400lbs of pop products in the bow with about 200 in each locker and it's money. I also have some fly high 440lbs in the lockers for surfing and have it dialed pretty well. Congrats you'll love it.

ryan i had that same exact problem with the steering cable and the impellor on the ballast pain in the arse but its the only problem weve ever had in the sanger issac quick tip go to tracy marine and pay the 200$ for the new ballast pump they went to a bigger pump and its more reliable the the stock one in it

$200 for a ballast pump on a Sanger? That better have included installation. Replaced one of mine and it was $46 from MarineMax.
