New Dimension Towers in Nor Cal

My brother has a 99 Air Nautique with the older nautique tower and he is going to put on the newer style tower that you can buy from New Dimensions. The local shop quoted hime a lot more than ND said it would be to have it installed + the gelcoat repairs.

Has anyone had any experience with any of the shops in Nor-Cal for getting these towers mounted up.

INstalled a ND of my 99 205V and repaired old tower gelcoat.

Here is what happened. The delaer told me that if there were no problems with the gel coat it should be 100-200 buck to just fill holes and match the white gel coat. However, when they took off the mount in the fromt they found extensive spider cracking in the gel coat that went up under the windsheild and the dash. Took over 2 weeks to fix just the gel coat and almost 900 bucks later. Now I can't be too upset becasue they found a porblem that needed to be fixed. As far as tower install goes they charged two hours of shop labor and that was it. I think if it takes a dealer more than 2 hours to do a 99 Air they are screwing you. the surface that that tower mounts to is flat and not curved like the MC. I would ask the dealer what the breakdown of cost is and they might be screwing you on the gel coat. If they are take the old towre off yourself and fing your own gel coat people. Then take it to the dealer and tell them to put the tower on for you. THis way they can't mark up the gel coat on you
