They just showed a pretty sweet show on the history channel which went through the history of the wakeboard. The started from the Skurfer the construction processes they used to use. It was a new episode of Boys' Toys on at 10pm Eastern. Very cool to see wakeboarding get as much time on an extreme show as surfing and skateboarding.

Saw that, it was pretty interesting! Just shows how far this sport has progressed in the last fifteen years! Maybe everybody will ease up a bit on expectations! NOT!

I just watched it. It's a pretty cool show with great segments on the history of surfing, skateboarding, snowboarding and wakeboarding. I was stoked on the wakeboarding segment with interviews with Tony Finn and Jimmy Redmon. It must be pretty current because it's at their new offices.

I noticed that no credit was really given for the first compression molded board and they said that most of today's boards are made of graphite composite or aluminum honeycomb.

The show will air again on Saturday, 12/6 at 5:00 PM ET.

I thought that most boards are foam core and they use wood cores as well. Do companies still use honeycomb cores??

That's why I mentioned it. Nobody uses honeycomb or graphite any more as far as I know.

so is the name of show boys toys? because there's no show called that under the show listing on the history channel site - but there are episodes of a show called that on their schedule. in addition, there's a show called tactical to practical that has episodes called boys toys...

Looks like Boys Toys is the name of the show and Extreme Gadgets is the episode.

ah, well i was just looking at the historychannel's site, not my local cable listings...

http://www.historychannel.com/global/listings/listings.jsp?fromDate=6&fromMonth=11&fromYear=103& NetwCode=THC&View=

although this listing does have "Tactical to Practical (Boys' Toys: #10)" at 2pm - were you perhaps seeing that?

i just checked my local listings and it also shows it for 5p.

No, I had the right show. However, I was looking at my DirecTV (Pacific Time Zone) listings. It looks like it's different on cable (2:00 PM). That sucks. Damn, this gets confusing.
