I just installed a pair of the NVS Addictions and am very impressed. They are as loud as you could ever want, with a ton of midbass.

selling my brand new Tyrants for 1100. Installed on the boat by a professional installer, tuned then taken down for storage. I am only selling to get the new Deviants on my boat. Will take a loss!

Brunettes or Blondes. About half the people will say NVS half the people will say Wetsounds. Then you get a small percentage who like others, like Bullet, Fusion.... (Redheads)

NVS and Wetsounds do sound different, but neither is better, it's all personal preference.

Wetsounds no doubt... Tim, another $10 please.

If Jerry says brunettes, I say blondes!
Old     (nvsairwarrior)      Join Date: Aug 2003       04-09-2008, 10:26 PM Reply
OK, I can't stand it anymore. You two guys Mikeski and Ponte. It could be the Jerry and Mike show.
I'll tell everyone now that when you 2 guys first met face to face at the Spring ride last year, you both had the exact same shades on. Unbelievable!
Old     (sippi)      Join Date: Dec 2007       04-09-2008, 10:33 PM Reply
So is NVS brunette or blonde? ;)
Old     (mikeski)      Join Date: Aug 2003       04-09-2008, 10:41 PM Reply
Admit it Duane, the VZs looked way better on me that they did on Jerry.

Are we going to see a boat with the new NVS enclosures at spring ride?
Old     (nvsairwarrior)      Join Date: Aug 2003       04-09-2008, 10:58 PM Reply
Mike, sorry if I disappoint you but I don't swing that way.
I only wish I had taken a picture of you 2 guys next to each other with the same shades on. I still remember your expression when I introduced you to each other.
The new NVS Deviants will have some representation for sure. Solid colors and some Carbon models will be available. We will actually be offering some free rides so people can check them out.

quick question, does nvs make a specific enclosure to fit the stock mounts of an illusion x and the mc zero flex tower's similar to w.s?
Old     (nvsairwarrior)      Join Date: Aug 2003       04-10-2008, 12:16 AM Reply
Bryan, I suppose you were looking for a quick answer too.
Firstly, NVS does not need any special treatment to attach to any of the Zero Flex towers on MC's made since day 1. If you feel mounting to the extensions put on the towers the last 2 years is preferred, my quick question is Why would you want to if you don't need to and add 1" to your hang height? Bottom line is that it's unnecessary and adds to your hang height.
The Illusion is a different case altogether. Rather then rely on cantilevering the Addiction from these points we feel that this would represent a safety issue if we were to do so. NVS Addictions weigh more then the 6" or 8" counterparts. We have opted to make sure something doesn't come crashing down on people either from tower failure or enclosure failure. Therefore, we mount the Addictions using one of the mounting points AND the round connecting tube via a special bracket.
The new NVS Deviants can easily be mounted upside down on the round tube of the Illusion. This configuration provides you with Zero obstructions inside the cabin AND eliminates the sound reflections that are unavoidable if mounting 2 speakers on the stock mount locations. Basically you have the upper/forward speaker firing into a large portion of the lower/rearward one. Aoustically, this make no sense in the first place. Additionally, the Illusion tower is shorter then all others. Putting high performance speakers at this low height isn't going to make many friends in the back seat while trying to satisfy the rider.
For those that want to mount the new Deviant on the stock mounts, this is being created now.

Well, i'm a Brunette fan myself.

But, i'll never say a crossword against Blondes.

Duane, your response to Bryan's question sure eliminated any doubt I had about getting a VLX with a Titan III rather than an Illusion tower. My two Entity 1010s look beautiful on the Titan III, leave ample head room, scream to the rider, and allow the peeps in my boat to get their lyric on!

Just to be clear, my comments on the Illusion is purly from an accoustical perspective. It is a very stylish tower and like most stylish designs, it has it's Pro's and Con's from a functional standpoint.
We have to be honest with ourselves, the sport is about riding! We sound guys just try to enhance the experience.

Duane, you're not addressing the real issue here.

Tim has claimed brunettes, let's see some pics of the NVS blondes!
Old     (nvsairwarrior)      Join Date: Aug 2003       04-10-2008, 9:16 PM Reply
OK, I'll just leave it at this.
Hair color has noting to do with audio, or this thread author's dilema.
Lastly, I've never met a Blonde wanting to become a Brunette. Brunettes want to become Blondes!
Nonetheless, Tim your a lucky man.

Sam, I don't see any speakers in that pic? But I guess even if there were, I probably wouldn't see them anyway.

John,

I would suggest to listen and compare. But I see that you are in massachusetts. And I know it would be a little more difficult in your area. Shoot me an e mail and I can hook you up with a dealer that is somewhat close if you want to try to take a listen.

John,

Shoot an e mail to justin@wetsounds.com He can get you the best dealer for you. Thx.

Shawn, that is my business partner Brett's Dodge. It is a full Kelderman lift on it. He knows Jeff Kelderman and built it after seeing and riding in his. There are a couple shots of it here http://www.wetsounds.com/pages/gallery/ws/ws.html
