I'm lookin' to get a board to finally replace my 02 Premier 140, and I've only owned a 140 or bigger board. I tried an 02 Premier 135 once, and liked the feel but always felt like board was gonna submarine on me cuz I wasn't used to the shorter length. Bumpy conditions made me paranoid... Was that just me? My reason for changing is because I'm startin' to feel the drag of my board, but I don't know if going shorter will defeat the purpose of switching models. I don't want to increase my riding speed to compensate if I don't have to My weight is at the max of the 138 but the min of the 142... Thanks in advance for any advice!

I'm right at the top range of the 138 and start of the 142. I always rode smaller boards in the 135 range so I went with the 138, if you think about it there is only a difference of about 1.5 inches. If I were you I'd go for the 142, a little more pop, a little softer landings. Good board choice, you will really like it compared to the Premier.

go bigger. I only weight about 155 but ride a 140 marius after being on the 34 for a while. Much more forgiving, and more pop.

Hey, I'm just checkin' round for the non-Antbug point of view too....... I just want to make sure going bigger isn't -just- a safe decision based on what I'm used to. Now I gotta get past those 09 graphics . I really like the 08 colors..... Thanks for the opinions, and i'll keep on readin' if there's more to come..

I'm 180-185 and picked up a Transcend Platinum 142 and couldn't be happier. I spent the summer on 138's.. Much improved. Step up. If you get the platinum - the weight at 142 will be less than a regular core board at 138. Love mine.

I don't think you really need to get the Platinum version. It seems that you hold onto boards for awhile and the foam core will be more durable. The 09 shape is better than the 08, don't sacrifice the better ride for the graphic!!

142 for sure. CWB's boards measure shorter than other manufacturers. I bet the 138 Transcend is almost the same (maybe a hair longer) than your 135 Hyperlite board.

Ok, I dunn it ....... Thanks to ANTBUG at BOARDERSMALL.COM, I'll be gettin' my new '09' Transcend Platty in a day or two! Looks like tomorrow may be my last day on the ol' Premier... Fingers crossed! Big Heavy- I've had a few boards, but always ended up going back to my Premier....Hoping this will be the one this time. I really liked the 06 when I tried it. Thanks again, BUG!

The '09 Transcend is absolutely dope!!! I'm thinking you'll love that board. It'll be a lot different than the Premi, so give it a few rides to decide.

Hey Chuck, I'll call you Friday morning... Yeah it's cold out! Been out twice this week after about 5 months out. Not only do I suck, but I'm outta shape and discovered a leak in the left leg of my drysuit today at B/V No matter... A little aquaseal and I'll be ready for Saturday and/or Sunday Morning! Evan- The Premier is just not feelin' as comfy as it used to, so it's time for a change. I only rode the 06 Transcend twice before, but really liked it on the second run... Can't wait to get the new one in the drink!

The 06 Transcend was slow as molasses. The new one has a lot more pep, puts more glide in your stride, if you know what I mean. A little less vert pop but in all honesty it is a great blend of speed, transition and pop. Not sure how you like your boards to ride, personally I like a loose board and I ride it without any of the fin extensions. It helps release off the wake to initiate spins. Start there and add fins if you prefer.
