Reminds me of when Murray had those back to back injuries with his ankle and knee a few years back. Definitely wish Parks the best.

Heard back from two separate groups of guys that witnessed the crash. They said it did not look good for Parks. Some people really dramatise how bad the event was so I don't know about this statement. But one of the dudes that saw it, said he doubts Parks will ride again. and this dude has witnessed some really bad stuff at some of the PWT, and X-games. So I am hoping for a recovery for Parks. Really sucks that you get your new board out and bam...you sidelined again.

Damn, just saw Parks hanging out and barefooting at Worlds a few weeks ago. He contributes so much to the sport. I hope it isn't as bad as it sounds and wish him a speedy rehab and recovery. Had to watch his section of "Counterfeit This" after reading this thread.

It happened on a rail set up next to the lake at OWC on Saturday. There was a pool, a flat rail, a gap and a down rail into the lake. When riding through the pool, the rope is very low because it's being pulled by a jet ski down the hill. When Parks went to ollie onto the first rail, the rope got hung up underneath the rail and pulled him back down. That caused him to tumble across the first rail, across the gap, into the second rail and down to the ground. Parks said he heard a pop and those that were watching said that his lower leg got bent to the side pretty good. It was his "good" leg.

He hasn't been to the doc yet and will be going to see his knee specialist in Nor Cal. Chad Sharpe said that Parks was pretty down the day it happened, but sounded a lot better on Sunday.

I know this has to be devastating for a guy that just worked so hard to recover from an injury that lingered for two years. However, I think that talk of Parks never riding again is way premature. I will cover all bets going in that direction!

good to hear Dave. It's hard to imagine Parks not riding again. I thought that was an extreme thought as well. Like I said before, I know there are a few out there that are a little dramatic. Thanks for the in depth!

Good luck to Parks on the recovery. I'm sure he'll push to come back I don't think giving up is in his vocabulary.
