Overall Length: 33’9” / 10.29 m Beam: 11’ / 3.35 m Dry Weight: 14,000 lbs / 6,350 kg Fuel Capacity: 200 gal / 757 L Water Capacity: 30 gal / 114 L Is my math right, is it about $700 to fill it up? Can you imagine splitting gas with folks for the day - let's see your share is $283, will that be cash or credit? I'm also eagerly awaiting the retail cost of that monster.

"300 as in $300,000" Or alternatively an Enzo for every day of the week - 4 regular and 3 right surf.

Nice looking wave though - I'd ride it and pitch in the usual $20 for gas! Hey Jeff, my buddy's Malibu 247 has a 96 gallon tank (roughly half the size of that one)...you know why? Because it needs it! He has the 8.1 in it. I couldn't believe how much gas we used in that thing at Powell last year.

I think they said this boat had twin diesels. Yes, 300 for $300k. Anybody have an American Express black they want to loan me? Here is the link: http://www.mastercraft.com/teamtalk/showthread.php?t=31954&highlight=mastercraft

Sometimes I wonder why some Mfgs make so many models but this one is silly. Do they really think there is a big enough market for this? Doesn't seem like the best economic environment to launch it either.

I heard that it was developed for the waters off of Dubai for day/weekend boat trips. Many things developed in/for Dubai seem "silly" but also pretty sweet

Eric, was that this past weekend? I would have loved to seen that thing. I bet that water was cold but I think I couldn't have held back if I had a chance to wakesurf off that in Lake Mich! Is the teak floor and upgrade, if so not sure I would want the hassel of that? I know on the Cobalt yachts it's a pain and when you clean and oil it you have to wait like 2 days before walking on it and it's a $60k upgrade!! (Message edited by jame04 on August 28, 2009)

And MC wonders why they are in trouble. Is that the kind of boat that the "real world" is demanding right now?

TRdon, every mfg wonders why they are in trouble. And unfortunately, there is a market for this. Is it big? No. But that doesn't matter. They have already sold one if not both of the first ones made, and I am sure that there are rich people that would gladly be put on a waiting list for one. Not to mention I dont know if this has hit dubai yet or not.

Trdon, MC is having success with the 300, they have received orders on the boat. I believe 3-4 of them are already sold. The tour of the US is just getting started, and there are already positive results being seen. Keep in mind that production on this boat is going to be between 12-15 units per year MAX. This is going to be a exclusive boat that isn't going to be seen everywhere.

I know just enough about marketing to be dangerous, but isn't this sort of niche hugely profitable? Doesn't going way out on a limb create buzz for the folks brave enough to venture there? I remember the Pontiac Fiero that was a failure, but back in the day set Pontiac up as the innovation leader in consumer's minds. It seems to me when you are in that fringe market, a good portion of your marketing is already done for you just because you managed to turn some heads...the nationwide tour of this boat certainly increases that. I would also think there is typically a lot less competition in those fringe markets. Most people associate the big money to remain with the masses in the middle, but rarely do they think of the volume of competition all fighting for the same dollars. I have to think there is quite a bit of profit in the $300K sales price of this boat, as well as "residual marketing" as folks oogle that monster. I get to look at a lot of P&L's and profit margins suffer with increased competition, it doesn't seem like there is a lot for this boat and if the total annual production is only 15 worldwide, probably not impossible to sell out. It will be interesting to see how this works out for MC.

I don't get it. You guys don't think there is a market for large boats? People buy big boats all the time. 300K for that new is not out of line from others of similiar size, either.

odd thing I noticed is the Ronix surf board they are using. I bought that as my first board. It is like riding a sheet of plywood..... or a door eh Jeff??? Anyway, with that great endorsement, anyone want to buy that board off me???

I think the biggest obstacle MC will have to overcome is that of the people in that market segment that can afford to drop that kind of money on a boat and afford to actually use it and enjoy it, MC will probably be at the bottom of most people's list. There are many other reputable companies that build high dollar yachts and have been doing so for as long and longer as MC has been around. I'm its a great boat, but I think they may have some trouble convincing those types of buyers to even look at a boat like that that has been made by a ski boat company. I'm sure there are a decent number of current MC owners that could buy that boat and I suspect thats where the first few sold units have gone to. I could be way off base, but I feel that this may be a difficult segment of the boat market to get into. My 2 pennies
