Had the opportunity to ride one at a demo event and it was super fun. Funny enough we won a 4í4Ē model at a raffle later that week but I think itís too small.

I have surfed a few skimboards at this length and seems like it simply doesnít float me well enough to be nimble on the water...just confirming this is often the case with a skim style (or probably all boards) that are just too small for the riders weight? Any benefits to riding something on the super small side?

Trying to figure this out without damaging this $700 board...otherwise Iíll be looking to trade it as I am at 6í and 185lb and seems like the larger model would be better. Damn this thing is beautiful though.

Ronix doesn't make good boards. If you want a true skim, get a Hyperlite Hi-fi or something from Victoria. Skim style boards shouldn't be over 53", other wise it's a surf board that looks like a skim board. I'm 5'9 180pnds & I ride a 53" just fine. Try slowing your boat down when skimming. Boat speed for different boards plays a crucial roll.

Didn’t think about slowing it down but I’ll give it a try. What about ronix boards do you dislike so much?

Their wakeboards are badass & they're surf boards are just over priced, lots of people putting up broken or badly dinged Ronix surf boards. For what they cost you have so many better options.

Slowing down when skimming helps a ton. I do personally think that board at 4' 4" is too small for you. You'd be better on a 54" or 56".
