Alright here we go again, another Super Air Nautique has visited the shop and its ready for the bling. We got a late start on it but its rollin along now! Dont worry Ceasar it will be done for the spring ride! Heres the line up:

(2) 12W7s
(2) Orion 2400XTRs
(1) Orion 4004
(1) Orion 8002
(2) LCD Mirrors
(1) Power Flag
(8) Blue Tops
Lots of LEDs, cupholder LEDs, and some existing Boss tower accesories(cans, and racks).
We took the tower and cans in to get repowder coated and they look sweet. Ill post some pictures of the tower when I get it installed.

Here are some other pictures. The 2 sub boxes and battery boxes are made, and we didnt have enough room so we had to remove the bottom of the glove box. Dont worry, we'll fix it, it will just be alittle shorter than normal. This is a 2001 and it is completely different from Teddys SAN. The floor is actually 3 1/2 inches higher, so it makes it alittle harder to stuff W7s in tight compartments.

Yeah!!! I'm stoked you are makin C's ride top notch. I liked it pretty much as is, with the wake and all but now with full on Sound Illusions attention it should be off the hook. Knowing how C likes to roll, I can't wait to see how you guys hook him up!

Grant & friends, make it up right. C is a good guy & deserves your utmost creativity! C, you punk, you are so stoked. As am I! So jealous its not fair....

What are you planning on putting under the glove box lid now? Oh, and did C have a heater behind the kick panel and where are you going to put it now?

LOOKS GREAT!

Yo Clay- Those battery boxes look sick all stacked like that, gonna save me a ton of storage space back there. I should have the cans and racks back this weekend and I will bring them up to you. Keep up the good work brother.

Joe H.- I didn't have the heater option so the only thing on the kick panel was my power/bilge switch and fuse panel.

Sounds good my homie! I just picked up the tower, its BLINGIN!

Joe- the glove box will be refinished on the inside. I will make a bottom for it and then fiberglass it back in, it will be all good, were gonna put a bandaid on the Suppa Air!

Yea that glove box/cooler mod gave C like 2 cubic feet of storage. Ill explain. The opening of the passenger seet is like 13 inches tall. As soon as you start trying to stuff a sub box in that aera the glove box gets in the way The glove box hangs down and only gives you 9 inches of space from the floor to the bottom of the glove box. When we cut out like 3-4 inches of the bottom of the glove box we were now able to scoot the sub box all the way to the front of the open bow inside that storge aera. Orignally the sub was gonna be like my'n where there is no storage and the sub is right at the front of the seet opening. This way is so much better. You can see their is enough room to stuff another sub in that space now or use it for storage.

The glovebox mod looks good! I know that thing hangs pretty low, so I'll be stoked to see how it turns out.

At least you didn't have to deal with the fiberglass hump behind the kick panel this time!
Old     (mhayes)      Join Date: Jul 2004       02-23-2006, 2:03 PM Reply
Clay, how many cubic feet did you get out of the sub box underneath the dash?

Sweet I can't wait to hear it.

Ceasar - I'll be at the new place Saturday afternoon. Stop by and say hi if you'll be in the area.

Joe- Yea no kidding, they started the hump in 2002 and all its for is the footrest.

Michael- I was able to meet the specs on both of the boxes. They are both at 1.375 cubic feet.

I finished the glove box today, the white board in the photo is a piece of 3/4" cutting board. I then used epoxy with a white pigment over the top to match the inside of the glove box. It was then covered to keep the dust out while it dried.

I re-installed the tower and mounted the Power Flag on the rear of the tower, and ran the wires for it and the speaker wires.

Clay/Grant -- did you guys have to extend any of the wires under the dash to get them to clear the kick panel sub box? Isn't the gas fill under there, too?
Old     (grant_west)      Join Date: Jun 2005       03-01-2006, 4:21 AM Reply
we dont extend anything. We pull and sretch the existing wire loom and if it dosent stretch far enough we cut it out and throw it away, We figure if it's in our way you dont need it. And as far as the gas fill we cut that out to and stuff a rag in the in the hose. Just make sure your boat has a full tank before you bring it to us because your not gonna be able to fill it up after we are done.

Some wire can be re routed (not cut) and some wire needs to be cut re routed and extended. This is a delicate and time consuming process. Each and every wire that gets cut needs to be solderd and shrink tube'd "NO BUT CONNECTORS EVER". you dont want to ever trouble shoot a loose or bad connection up under your dash behind a sub box and in front of a kick pannel. I cant think of a worse place for a wire connection to go bad when you are out on the water. So thats why we take anny connection very serious. Do it once do it right. Nautique wireing suck's. They have "some guy" at the factory that I would like to punch in the nose. LOL J/K Look at what my AIR looked like stockUpload

Okay I got all of the aluminum stuff back from the polishers and dropped it back off to Clay yesterday so he could get it back on the boat. It came out better than we expected and it looks pretty good up against the red we had the speaker cans and tower done in. Clay will install it today or tomorrow and post pics when finished.

CAR,} where did you score those AIR logo'd racks? They'll look boss alongside the other ones (BOSS)? Although they look cool, I've never been a fan of Flight Clips and really had to dig for a decent multi-rack solution for my SAN.
Old     (super_air)      Join Date: Jun 2005       03-06-2006, 9:54 AM Reply
Joe- The racks came from the place where I bought the boat,California Correct Craft. They mount on the flat bar on the FCT and then the Boss racks are mounted on the round tube below it so I can offset mounting positions and clear the bindings from all of the boards.

Man yall's stuff looks awesome.

I have a question for the pros.

I sold my 02 and my 06 should be here soon. My 02 had the sub under the dash and it facing towards the driver. I built a new box for the new boat for the sub to go in the observer's seat storage area. I have the sub firing down on the floor. Will I be loosing anything by doing this. The sub is a 10" and it has 300 watts RMS coming to it. My sub and cockpit speakers are pushed by a Orion 7005.

I'm not sure what you mean Tyler.

"Will I loose anything by doing this?" meaning bass or any sound.

Here are some pictures of the tower with all the Boss accesories and board rack mounted back up there. This thing looks super clean, the contrast between the red and polished aluminum is great.

Are those the new Boss w the Spektrum speakers or just replacement covers over the Mb-Qs ? If they're Spektrum how do they sound ?

KG- They are the new Boss series from last year with the Spektrum speakers in it and they sound pretty good, you can hear them while riding nice and clear and they sound real good while in the boat chillin. I have 800 watts going to the tower by itself. Rock on.

When do we see the pics of the final product? Tell me you splashed some LEDs into that sweet ride!

Attila- Everything was already polished to begin with I just had them re-buffed to bring the shine back to life. I had them done here in Salinas from a guy that does aluminum polishing.

Yes it will have a ton of led lighting throughout the boat from front to back. The boat should be done here in the next week just in time for Spring Ride.

Thanks Grant, Is the red one sticker then the silver another sticker over the top for the border or all one sticker.
Old     (grant_west)      Join Date: Jun 2005       04-14-2006, 5:59 PM Reply
The way C"s Air sticker is The Red is the first or bottom layer and the silver is the second or top layer.

My Air sticker is the same color combonation. But the silver is the first layer (bottom) and the red is the second (top) layer.

Im gonna change myn out to be like C's because when you have it set up like my'n the end's of the air sticker get real thin and are easy to peal back. The way C's sticker is set up its much harder to peal back the end's
