The ones you get to ride behind...

But really as long as they are HLCD and you like the looks and sound.

My personal picks are Wetsounds and Bullets.

This is just like the boat threads. Go listen for yourself. I own wetsound so I am going to say wetsounds and so on. Get it?

Brad

PS. Wetsounds really are the best!

I am setting up a group buy with Bulletline's new HLCD speakers that are coming out. Since there not out of course there aren't any reviews yet. They will however be the cheapest HLCD speakers on the market. The prices for the group so far are $200 for a pair of 6.5" and $250 for a pair of 7.7". This is the prices for just the speakers and no cans. So if you have OEM cans that will fit them you can keep your OEM look but have some banging speakers. I am trying to get Ken to give me a prices for the group buy that are with cans too. Should have some more details at the beginning of July.

I would think it would kind of depend on what you want to you your tower speakers for? If you want music loud and clear while riding than HLCD seems to be the way, but if you are looking for good sounding party cove speakers than Car audio may be better. I am not really sure what the best is of either of these kinds of speakers though. In HLCD it seems like Wetsounds get the most talk, then NVS, and then Hollow Points.

I'm going to agree with Brad Chesley,

"This is just like the boat threads. Go listen for yourself. I own wetsound so I am going to say wetsounds and so on. Get it?"

However, being I have a Liquid Acoustics System I would say they are the best for HLCD!

I have also owned Liquid Trends and still do so for car audio i would say they are the best!

The biggest thing is take a set behind all the speakers or at least take a listen to all of them. Everyone hears music differantly. myself I like loud and crystal clear. Some people just want loud or want more bass in there music. You are the judge of what sounds best to you!

I think Bullets sound better than Wetsounds.

It would be fun to have a audio head to head match, with similar size speakers amps etc.. Then we could hear the pro's and con's of these speakers.

^^^^That would be awesome if someone could do that. Same amps and everything, only thing changing being the speakers.

NuBU said I think Bullets sound better than Wetsounds.

Its because they do!

It would be dope to do a sound off though. The fact is it's a personal choice at this level of quality.

Not to mention the fact they look way better as well. Before the wetsounds fans start to bash yes I've heard them mounted next to eachother on the same tower powered off the same amp with the same power.

Nu, didn't you have Pro 80's on your last boat? I've heard them side by side but indoors.

Nope never owned Wetsounds speakers. I heard them side by side indoors (heard alot of wetsounds outdoors to). It was at a dealer that sold both.

Fact is you can't go wrong with Bullet, WS, NVS or HSE Trident. It's all a matter of taste of sound, looks and how they effect the wallet not only in initial cost but what it costs to power them.

HateNPain said it right. Our ears are different than yours.

I personally have'nt heard the Bullets, NVS, or HSE's, so I can't comment. All I can really say is that the WS is a great product, and the company stands behind that product 110%. That right there means a lot. I'm in no way saying that the other companies don't do that.

The problem is you couldn't do a sound off with just one same amp. All speakers are designed to accept different power levels and ohms. What would be cool would be have all the manafacturers send two 8" speakers dialed with a matching amp and then test them for decibals and clarity. Sound quality is subjective, however decibals and clarity can both be measured.

That would be cool. I am running what WS recommends, a Syn 4 on two pro 485's. Curious as to what other manufacturers would recommend for their speakers.

NVS will be at the Summer Nights event this weekend at Tulloch. You can come try out mine, or get a demo directly from NVS. They'll have all of their new stuff on hand.

Agreed Robert, It would be cool to see each manufacturer setup their "ideal setup" as well as tune it to their desired results in one location. This would really allow the closest "apples to apples" comparison. I doubt it could happen though.
