just wondering how often you should change the in- line fuel filter on the boat. i have 157 hrs and 2 yrs on original one and think its time for a change.also is there an auto equivalent to the merc one (350 mpi) 315 hp (tow sportmodel) as the price up here is quite high for a filter. thanks

dale is that for the fuel filter or the fuel pump? You can get a fuel filter from Overton's or West Marine, or .. iboats or ....

.. All for less than $10. I pay about $7 locally.

For the fuel pump, that's another story. Those are around $100. I paid $140, but didn't have time to shop around. I needed one.

WOW!!!! Is that just for the filter? At that price I would hope it included labor.

The $67 filter is a true inline filter, the <$10 filter is a fuel water seperator. Mercruiser uses both. I found a Sierra replacement for the inline filter for $24 (it was made by Racor, just like the Mercruiser)
I posted the part number for someone last week, I'm traveling this week and don't have the number with me.
