I have seen a few people asking about the Alpine Type R 6.5s on here and and thought I would share my opinion. When I purchased my boat it had 4 pairs of the Type Rs in it, so I stuck with them they were a good speaker, definatly sounds good and had a lot of full range, but I was left wanting more.

I have been working with Steven from Sound Waves in Rogers, AR and he has been awesome so I took his advise and replaced the Alpines with the Wetsounds XS-650s and all i can say is WOW, I've seen a few people compare the two and I can say there is no comparison, the WS can handle so much more power efortlessly, have way more midbass and the highs are just ridicilus, the difference is crazy, in fact my amp for my pro60s went bad on our second trip wit the WS and we could still here the sterero while riding with out the tower speakers.

Currently I'm running

8 XS 650s
4 Pro60s
Digital Designs 3515
JL 10w7
1 JL HD600/4
3 JL HD 750/1s
Wetsounds WS420
3 Kinetik HC2400s

Plans for the near future

adding another HD600/4 for the inboat speakers
Replace the Pro60s with Pro80s
PRO485 on the Crossbar with a HD750/1 powering it
replace the 10w7, with a 12/7 in a customer ported box in the kick panel
and when we can get them replace both of the 750/1s powering the subs with hd1200/1s
Battery and charging system
