Do you guys think that a 1080 will be a popularly landed trick next year in contests or do you think only a few people will be able to do it. Its also possible that it never becomes a "i can stick it 9 out of 10 times" trick....More like 1 out of 10

right now i think its something that more riders might be landing here and there but never will it become a popular trick in contests.

That looked almost effortless on Danny's part, who knows if the wake and conditions are right . . . . .

who knows, have they landed a 2nd 1080 yet? that would be an indication if once it has been "achieved" it becomes easier for them. i dont think that is the case but who knows

I think it will start to become more and more popular and in a few years, yes, i think it will become the new 900. It was only, what, 5 or 6 years ago that the only guys landing a 900 were the top pros like Murray and Shapiro. Now lots of guys don't even need a double up to land a 9.

2 guys landed a 1080 today at the slider spectacular at owc. It will be sequenced in WBM. They landed them back to back first Julian Cohen with a switch toeside 1080 then robin friday with a heelside 1080. I saw the sequence shots taken by Lu for WBM and they are really good, he got it all.

that's awesome. I remember when a 720 was a big deal. That's why it was cool to see tino throw a 9 as his first trick in the finals at nats. that kind of consistency and confidence is sweet sweet progress...

they were riding behind cable. It was best-trick format. all six outlaw riders had one chance to hit the kicker known as big white( http://www.orlandowatersports.com/sliders.php ) the first off the dock was adam errington and he threw a huge 900. then was julian cohen and he did a switch toeside 1080, robin friday came right behind him on the cable and landed a HUGE heelside 1080. Robin Friday won best trick for that obsticle.

Julian landed a 10, gosh that punk is getting good. good on him.

I think it'll be a good while before we'll be seeing the 10 become as common as a 9. I'm sure we'll see a couple go down during pro-tour, but it wont be common.
